snorkelgirlca Posted May 11, 2015 #26 Share Posted May 11, 2015 Not much difference. I hope at least it's actually PRIME. Perhaps they can do a "showing" of the steaks beforehand as they do in the steakhouse. ;) Tom I was on the liberty in April. We ate at the steakhouse one night for our anniversary. There they do the parade of steaks and lobster. Two nights later in the MDR the waiter advised us that the casino had offered us a choice of wine or the "steakhouse" options which were three entrees listed at the bottom of the MDR menus. One steak entire, one lobster and (I think) the pork chops. Hubby had the steak and I had the lobster. Other than the choice of "meat" the steakhouse option in the MDR was no different than a regular dinner in the MDR. I am not complaining as the lobster was great but you don't get the steakhouse experience by eating that option in the MDR. To me it is worth paying the 15 difference between the two for the sides and appetizers alone.
NeuroQueen Posted May 11, 2015 #27 Share Posted May 11, 2015 We just returned from our Splendor cruise on Saturday. We enjoyed the Steakhouse immensely on the first and last night. Twice in the MDR I ordered the 9oz filet. It was huge and cooked and seasoned perfectly. They did bring Bernaise as requested, but the steak was so flavorful it was not needed. I have to admit we had exceptionally good food everywhere on the ship. I had not been on Carnival for 4 years and was very impressed on the Splendor. Rottweiler Puppy Posted May 11, 2015 #28 Share Posted May 11, 2015 Looks can be deceiving. The difference in the quality of beef is very noticeable. Did you take those two pictures? Do you have pics of them cut open?

We liked Splendor years ago too, and the steakhouse experience. One of the few Carnival ships we have been on.
