moki'smommy Posted April 20, 2016 #26 Share Posted April 20, 2016 (edited) The concierge staff does not clean. THey are like your personal assistants. They will see that you have all reservations you want, tickets to any events. beverages (yes, there is a bar tender during happy hours, but concierge can supply soft drinks and water at other times), best tables in the dining rooms, photos to your room to review, etc. They will sometimes show up in the dining rooms, at the start of an excursion, and other places just to make sure everything is ok. And yes, they are a separate tip. DCL provides no guidelines as to what is appropriate. I'd suggest that guests evaluate what they did for you and tip accordingly. Chimo2u Posted April 21, 2016 #27 Share Posted April 21, 2016 We had priority disembarkation on the Dream in February. We met a host in the concierge lounge at our selected time (last time slot was 8:00) and were escorted down. Same thing for our cruise Oct 2015/ Fantasy. Met our hosts in the lounge and escorted off on disembarkation/ only joined the line once off the ship. our baggage was tagged in a special area, very fast :)

Not that I'm aware of. As far as I know, you have to be staying in Concierge to get the Concierge benefits. I see nothing in their list that says anything about Concierge services for weddings. I do see coordinator service. https://disneycruise.disney.go.com/featured/packages/ https://www.disneyweddings.com/cruise/pricing/

I think I read that when you book a wedding you get concierge services, does that include boarding the ship early? Does anyone know what the earliest boarding time we could have is? We want to book a veranda stateroom (we're really excited about this because we've never had a veranda before!!) but there are so many categories! We'll be cruising on the Fantasy if anyone has an recommendations? Does anyone have recommendations for cruise specific items to include in welcome bags for guests? Yes, you will be considered Concierge guests. We had robes in our room and food goodies delivered to the room almost daily. We had boarding group#1, boarding usually begins around 11:30-11:45. We like mid-ship for our veranda's, we usually choose a 5B. Mostly the categories are for location of the room, I believe the 4 category rooms are a little bigger than the 5's. Congratulations and have a wonderful time.
moki'smommy Posted April 26, 2016 #31 Share Posted April 26, 2016 There is (or can be) a difference between being considered "concierge guests" and getting some of the goodies. In my experience, a wedding party boarded even before concierge very quietly and not obviously. We have been on cruises where we were given concierge style robes/slippers and had daily treats brought to our room...and concierge toiletries. We were not concierge guests and had no other concierge benefits. The situation was that we were on a B2B cruise and were Platinum. I never did sort out which benefits were given to all platinum cruisers and which were B2B (we did meet people who were one or the other and got some of the goodies that we got but not all). Bottom line, I've never seen it anywhere official that a wedding party is "considered concierge." I have seen that they get many nice perks that are often part of a concierge package. My suggestion--ask your coordinator.
OfficerKrupke Posted April 27, 2016 #32 Share Posted April 27, 2016 What I'm finding at a more Disney-specific forum is that it allows you to book things with Shoreside Concierge and board with Concierge, but I'm not finding any reference to access to any of the Concierge-only areas. I doubt you'd even receive the gold key card unless you're in a Concierge room either.

OfficerKrupke Posted April 27, 2016 #34 Share Posted April 27, 2016 still waiting to talk to wedding planner but reviews that I have read indicates that the bride and groom will get concierge service but will just to have to wait and ask Faith . I would imagine there's a difference between "Concierge service" and "Concierge benefits." People pay a *lot* of money to be in Concierge, and the space is not that big. There are many who would be quite upset if somebody from "steerage" is allowed to sully their ivory tower. I've seen plenty of hyperbole to this effect on other forums. I'm intrigued to find out the answers and if it turns out that you don't have to be Concierge to get the full Concierge treatment then some peoples' oxen are going to be gored beyond hope. :D
OfficerKrupke Posted April 27, 2016 #35 Share Posted April 27, 2016 This review indicates the "Concierge service" is much like the service provided by the Concierge team on the first day, but provided by the Coordinator instead. Booking of tastings, dinner, spa, salon, etc. This is different from Concierge benefits such as Concierge Lounge and Sun Deck, etc. The Coordinator is the one who provides the daily treats in the stateroom, not Concierge. https://www.undercovertourist.com/blog/disney-cruise-wedding-castaway-cay/ Again, I'm really interested to see if a full Concierge experience is provided. Can't wait for your information!

SamTheArtNerd Posted April 28, 2016 #37 Share Posted April 28, 2016 (edited) On the Fantasy and Dream, the Concierge Lounge, Concierge Sundeck, and services of three Concierge Hosts are only for guests staying in staterooms on decks 11 and 12. Concierge services for wedding parties, such as priority debarkation and booking of shore excursions and premium dining, are provided by the wedding coordinator. moki'smommy Posted April 28, 2016 #38 Share Posted April 28, 2016 This is largely what I anticipated--you get some of the same benefits of concierge level guests, but not all of them. Those that you get are not provided by the concierge team.....unless, of course, you have booked a concierge level cabin or suite.

OfficerKrupke Posted May 1, 2016 #42 Share Posted May 1, 2016 The hosts are really special folks, handpicked from among all the Guest Services crew. Which ship will you be on in November? Fantasy, as we have several times before. Our first time on Fantasy was Concierge and we fell in love with PJ and Tracey. We've since managed to see PJ every time we've been on the Fantasy, even if we're not in Concierge that time. Tracey has switched to the Dream, and after one four-day cruise we'll most likely never do it again. It felt like it was too rushed.
moki'smommy Posted May 2, 2016 #43 Share Posted May 2, 2016 PJ is one of my favorite CMs. He did NOT come from Guest Services. He was formerly the Palo manager on the Magic.

Not sure who the third person will be, sort of depends on what kind of rearranging they do over the summer. Tracy is delightful and it's a shame she's on the Dream. Like you, once was enough for us. SamTheArtNerd Posted May 2, 2016 #45 Share Posted May 2, 2016 PJ is one of my favorite CMs. He did NOT come from Guest Services. He was formerly the Palo manager on the Magic. Yeah, PJ applied for a Guest Services position just when they were filling a bunch of jobs and lucked into skipping a period of duty on the main GS desk. He seems like a nice enough guy, but we've never been fans.

While I'd always liked him, this moved him to the "very special" category.
thecoconut Posted May 2, 2016 #47 Share Posted May 2, 2016 I've heard the coffee in the buffet is horrible. Is the concierge lounge coffee the same or better. This is our second Disney cruise, the first one was 13 years ago in the Wonder. The actual date of the sailing in Sept is our 25th anniversary and we are cruising kid free. Have never had a suite on any of our cruises and decided to go for one this time. Can't wait to try it out. The concierge coffee is good! I would walk up each morning to get us lattes and bring them back to the room. Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app
