Embassy Suites NOLA-thoughts??

Recommended Posts

Doing 3 nights in NOLA before our cruise in Sept. I have stayed in Embassy all over the place, but never in NOLA. Anyone been there? It seems close to the port, but doesn't look as nice as the ES I'm used to, and it's really cheap??

I love ES because we travel with our 10 year old son and that way he gets his own space, plus the free breakfast is great.

Also looking at Westin Canal Street, it's actually over the mall?? Thoughts?

Thanks.

I've never stayed at the Embassy Suites, so I can't say as to what it's like. It is relatively close to the port, but not the best location if you want to head out to the Quarter or sight see in that area.

The Westin is above a mall, but it is an upscale mall, not the kind of place mall rats frequent. The hotel has its own entrance. It's actually a very nice hotel in a good location, with great views of the city and Mississippi River.

Of the two, I'd go with the Westin.

We stayed at the Embassy Suites in NOLA in January for two nights before our cruise. We got a great rate on Priceline for it. We loved the complimentary breakfast and the manager's cocktail reception. (We also loved Lucy's retired surfer's bar a block away!) The hotel is close to the port and it's within walking distance to the French quarter. I would recommend the ES and would stay there again.
