Cruise critic meet & greet on other cruise lines

You must have missed that Heald oraganizes a place to meet gives every Cruise Critic roll call meet and greet 4 prizes which I think are the ships on sticks and champagne. I guess you failed to mention that. No surprise - you are one of the chief Heald flamers.I amsurprised e even does what he does

They do that for sure but senior officers typically do not attend unless it is a huge group.

On the Pride relocation cruise JH was on the ship and we had a huge roll call. Both JH and the CD came and stayed for awhile and did provide some extra stuff including dinner at steak house.

However overall do believe that Carnival does not like CC and judging by the posts John Heald chooses to publish neither does he.

We met him for the first time on our recent cruise and did like the fellow and he kept coming over to us asking how we were doing.

I think they can and do for a group type fee, which is fine.

It's not about the money. The food was nothing special. It was all food and beverages you could go get for free at the Lido deck. I am sure the free pens and lanyards is not what is raising cruise prices.

What I appreciated was the time they took out of their morning to make us feel welcomed and appreciated. The majority of cruise critic members are people who truly love to cruise and spend a lot of time researching cruising and giving advice to others. I just thought it was nice that other cruise lines take a few moments to appreciate it.

I am quite happy that Carnival doesn't provide an array of "goodies" to meet and greets.....there is no reason for me to have to pay for a function that I would not attend.

On other lines, that's funded through their advertising budget. Whether you go or not is irrelevant.

No, I didn't miss anything. Carnival probably does for Facebook groups too. I think some are done for fees, if the group wants open booze (or something).

I am not a chief Heald flamer. He gets what he deserves, when he doesn't act professionally.

I don't get your post. My post wasn't negative, and wasn't stipulating anything that your *double posted* rolling eyes suggest.

However, I have heard about Carnival fees for about $25 per person for some group gatherings when the group agrees to wanting to have booze and stuff served them. In fact, we were solicited one time for those fees by an organizer (usually a TA).

On the Celebrity Reflection last November, we had a nice get together with snacks, juice and coffee. Some officers did attend and they were very personable. We played some games and there were some prizes awarded but I think those were provided by someone on our cruise. It was nice but I don't know if I will go again. My dh hates that kind of thing and I had to go alone. Then I left and went to the casino. :D

That sounds like a pleasant experience for those who want to participate.

LOL, does that money magically appear from somewhere? Please don't make me go step by step with you on how your cruise fare ends up paying for goodies given to a group.

Not familiar with a P&L sheet, eh? That's money that would have gone to their bottom line if not spent, not returned to the customer.

Oh ok, if that's how it works they should just give away new cars to everyone if that money spent doesn't effect the cruise price.

Carnival doesnt like CC.

I wonder why? What has CC done to Carnival and/or John Heald to make them/him dislike it so much?

why not ask him????

Problem with your theory is, that I didn't pose the question. Avril did.

However, I submit that John HEALD and I will have a nice chat in the near future. I want to host some interactive, town hall's online with him and the worldwide online audiences. I have WebX already on board for the enablement. We will consider allowing your participation.

How many Carnival Platinumand Diamond regular CC board posters would like to attend?

It isn't for me. Facebook is only one medium, and is rather inefficient.
