jaceyar Posted May 11, 2015 #1 Share Posted May 11, 2015 Has anybody booked this railway on the day, independantly, not with the ship? Worried that it'll be fully booked. The ship's trip is fully booked.
davecttr Posted May 11, 2015 #2 Share Posted May 11, 2015 According to the Rauma website there are 2 morning tourist trains to Dombas departing at 07.39 and 09.00. They return from dombas at 12.09 and 14.09. Journey time 1hour 21mins so thats it, one train a day at 9.00am. It is hardly likely that the ship will be there for the early train. :(
jaceyar Posted May 11, 2015 Author #3 Share Posted May 11, 2015 Thanks, I must say I thought the times were different when I looked. I'll check again.
103brandy Posted May 13, 2015 #4 Share Posted May 13, 2015 We booked on a ships tour. We were bussed up and got the train back. It's very easy to do it independently . The train terminus is just minutes from the ship.
davecttr Posted May 13, 2015 #5 Share Posted May 13, 2015 I can see the advantage of the ships tour as you won't have nearly 2 hours to wait at Donbas for the return train. There seems very little to do there?

There seems very little to do there? You are right. There's not much there. It was nice to see the countryside from the bus on the way there as well as the train on the way back. There are reserved carriages for the ships tour but there are plenty of other carriages for people going on their own.
