1st time cruiser - a few questions

Put your phone in airplane mode. I did and husband did not and he incurred a huge roaming charge.

 

Remember you may not get your luggage until after dinner. So plan a carry-on with swim suits and something to wear to dinner just in case.

 

Don't try to do everything. You'll kill yourself trying to do it all. There is so much to do on ship that it can be overwhelming. So just do what you can and relax - you are on vacation.

Don't miss the Aerial Show

The specialty restaurants are really good, Izumi is great for lunch and the views are really nice.

The filet at Giovanni's is better than the one at Chops. You can book them in advance or wait until you are on the ship and they might have deals.

Priceline express deals has good deals on hotels near the airport- we got the Westin for $64/night with free shuttle and free parking.

I hope your weather is good- we were on The Grandeur in February and on sea days it was too windy, so the decks were closed, not much to do in bad weather.

Also, join your roll call and go the the Meet and Mingle. Royal gives out nice door prizes and everyone gets something just for attending. Plus you will make some new friends.

One more thing- don't forget that you can bring 2 bottles of wine per room in your carryon, though you should bring a corkscrew unless it is a screw top. Not only does it save $$, it is nice to take a glass of wine with you to dinner- sometimes the bar service at dinner is very slow.
