Miami/Bal Harbour/S. Broward Beach Hotel

Looking for a hotel in either the North Miami Beach/Bal Harbour area or a little north -- basically North Dade/South Broward. Something fun, preferably with beach access or right across the street from the beach. We'll have a rental car, so don't really care about tons of stuff nearby (except the beach), just a nice, safe, appealing place with the closest beach access possible. Totally flexible on price.

Thanks in advance!

In that area I would highly recommend Sunny Isles Beach, great area with some very nice new hotels.

Trump International Sonesta Beach... http://www.sonesta.com/SunnyIsles/

Le Meridien... http://www.lemeridien.com/usa/miami/hotel_us1840.shtml

DoubleTree Ocean Point... http://www.oceanpointresort.com/

Or in Bal Harbour, Sheraton Bal Harbour... http://www.sheratonbalharbourresort.com/

Or going north into Hollywood Beach, the Westin Diplomat... http://www.diplomatresort.com/

Possibly a bit farther north than you want, but there's also a new Marriott on the north end of Hollywood Beach... http://www.hollywoodbeachmarriott.com/

Oh between those 2 I'd go with the Westin Diplomat if it were me. There's nothing wrong with the Hollywood Beach Marriott, it's all brand new, but the Diplomat is quite spectacular! Hollywood Beach has just been replenished behind it with new sand extending the beach out and it's a very nice area to stay in.
