JawjaFatBoy Posted June 23, 2015 #101 Share Posted June 23, 2015 Enjoying your review and all of the info you and others have shared. We are booked on the Valor in September and I was getting more than a little nervous as I am allergic to tobacco in all forms including smoke. We were on the Liberty in December of 2013 and the only place I had issues with was the area around the casino. It was AWFUL! I hope your little one is better now. We will have our little girl along and I'm praying we don't have any issues.

We have added a new item to our "must pack list" a large bottle of Febreze . Hopefully your cruise will be a great one!
sconstan Posted June 25, 2015 #103 Share Posted June 25, 2015 Did you do any excursions in Mahogany Bay? We are sailing in 15 days and cannot decide what to do there. TIA

fkfad Posted June 25, 2015 #105 Share Posted June 25, 2015 Thank you for all of this information! The color in your pictures is unbelievably beautiful! We are sailing on the Valor in October (2nd cruise on the Valor), and can't wait! We just got off of the Ecstasy and it is a much smaller ship! There are benefits to smaller ships -- few or no lines! TIA We just got off the ship last week. We went to Tabayana Beach. That was our second time there and we love it!! Beautiful beach!! Snorkeling is great and they have other things to rent also (kayak, bounce slide for kids, etc.) Can also parasail or go out fishing. They also have a restaurant and bar. Enjoy!! camper49 Posted June 25, 2015 #107 Share Posted June 25, 2015 As for the "odor", are you saying the steward never smelled anything abnormal? They do have ionizer machines to clear the air. Several years ago...I can't remember which ship...we walked into our cabin and the smoke smell was awful! Spoke immediately to our steward and they used the ionizer machine..it helped a lot. The ship we were on had been charted the prior cruise and sounded like there was a lot of smokers.

TIAWe did the beach Cabanas, Being he was sick it gave us an air-conditioned place for him and us to cool off and rest with privacy. It was worth the money. LOLI have been on smaller (Pearl,Sun), much larger (Oasis, Epic, Allure,Fantasy) similar sized (Caribbean Princess) and never encountered the lines that we had for embarkation and tendering like on the Valor. Thank you for the kind compliments! Edited June 25, 2015 by photogcrazy
christyran1228 Posted June 26, 2015 #110 Share Posted June 26, 2015 The smoke was the only thing that really turned me off on the Valor ... it was really overwhelming in a lot of locations on the ship. We cruised very soon after the no smoking on balconies policy went into place, so I wasn't surprised to be right in the thick of it everytime we went out on the balcony. Fortunately it didn't make it into the room. I don't remember the Elation being as bad and it was a much smaller ship.
christyran1228 Posted June 26, 2015 #111 Share Posted June 26, 2015 We were in 7248. It was really nice. We were upgrade just a few weeks ago, after haggling a little on upgrade price. I am afraid we may be too spoiled after having the extra room though. We had a mounted flat screen ... 9206
