changing pvp

Recommended Posts

I posted this within another thread, but the title does not mention pvps. So,

on my current booked cruise, i gave it to a pvp who had contacted me several times. She seemed nice enough. Normally, i book all of them myself, but since i was booking ES first, then immediately putting in for casino rate, i thought it best that i use the pvp. During the time before booking, I had several offers for premier cruises and pack and plays. in all the offers, she only contacted me about one, which i knew about 3 weeks prior. So anyway, i decided to go ahead and give her the booking. She asked me to give her the chance. last week our one of our ports on our future cruise was changed. the other two cabins that are cruising with us, got email notification from Carnival. They did not use a pvp. As of today, I still have not heard from our pvp. This is disappointing to me, I feel that she is not on top of things like she should be.

Can i take this booking away from her??? And change pvps, or perhaps no pvp?

Yes - you can change or remove a PVP from your booking at any time.

Try getting another PVP. Maybe someone you know has good one?? We've always had EXCELLENT service from ours. But I think we went through three to find her! [emoji12]

Wonder why your friends got a notification of change but not you?

Dont think your pvp has anything to do with this.

If you want to change ask friend to make recommendation or you might wind up with a bad one.

i am pretty sure it is because if you use a travel agent or pvp, they get the notification and are supposed to notify you. If it was a weather related emergency type change, Carnival would probably notify us directly.

I don't have friends that use pvps. They book their own just like i have always done.

Do i can remove the pvp, and continue my booking without one?? This sounds like the plan i need to follow...

You are responsible for checking your VIFP offers, not PVP. I have had same PVP for 10 years, love her, but she has never contacted me about my 8 Premier offers.

I check them daily.. but she told me that she checks all the time, and will keep me notified right away if any offers come my way... i do check them and know when they are there. She told me herself that she had been notifiying others before but didn't see anything on mine. She does check. I really don't need her to do that, as i said, i always check myself.

She still has not notified me of the itinerary change, I think it is just another thing that shows me she is not on top of things as she should be....

Sounds like you are looking for a TA, not a PVP.

Nope, not looking for a TA... been there, did that. I have done my own bookings for the last 25 cruises... this person basically called me over and over, and she was so nice, i decided to go ahead and give her a try... if i can remove her and handle my own booking from here i will do that..

You can ignore her and for any issues call Carnival directly.

Will say that when there any changes to our cruises we have gotten an email from the cruise line and not the pvp.

cruzn buckeye, I am currently going through what you did. I do my own research, my own checking my offers and my own bookings in all my past cruises. A very nice PVP recently contacted me (several times) and said she'd notify me of any offers or specials--I told her that was fine, but I usually am on top of this and know them myself. In fact, any time she has called, I already knew of them. So, DH recently decided he needs a cruise this summer and I'm looking to book for July. PVP know this and calls whenever she sees I'm fooling around on the website. I do plan on booking through her (because she's so nice) but I see that I could get some additional perks if I booked through an online site. Hope I'm not sorry about my decision.

If I were you, I'd just let her know that you're disappointed about not being notified by her with the itinerary change, but I'd let her keep the booking and let her know that I wouldn't be using her in the future and not to call anymore. Live and learn.

Make sure that you have a correct e-mail address listed in your Carnival website information. That is how you receive information about changes on booked cruises. Make sure that these messages are not going to junk/spam mail, some of mine were until I added carnival to my contacts in my email inbox.

Four cruises through carnival and never used a PVP, but I might need to from now on as we decided when we cruise it will always be a back to back.

Like having someone we know to go to when we run into a problem. Been using this pvp about 4 years and 10 or so cruises and she makes it easier for us

Why start now.....a B2B is no different than 2 separate cruises....we've done many and don't use PVP's. You probably know more than they do in just 4 cruise experiences!!

I just want to ensure we get the same room for the second half. Would be a total PITA to change rooms.

You still can book each of those cruises on your own & choose the same cabin. However, if there isn't the same cabin available on both cruises, you'd have to call to see which additional ones are available. They only list about 9 or 10 of the cabins that are available on each cruise.

If you book your B2B on your own, then call Carnival and speak to whoever answers the phone & ask them to "link" your 2 cruises as B2B.

That's what we did in 2012 for our first b2b. Guess I can always do that.

this is the same reason we booked our cruise for September thru a Carnival PVP. She called over and over and over. So, I booked thru her. She stated she would keep an eye on price drops for us and let me know if the price drops or if we can get OBC. Told me that she puts a reminder in her computer and it remids her to check every week. Yeah right!!! Never heard a peep from her after the cruise was booked. I emailed her asking her about keeping me posted on prices. She said she never said she would keep me posted...told me it was impossible for her to keep track of peoples sailings. Told her I would never use another PVP again. All she said was that she was sorry I wasn't happy with her. WOW!

I have book all the other curises I have been on directly thru the Carnival website myself, watched for price declines and filled out the price protection form myself and never had any issues. I recommend booking by yourself, then you have no one to blame but yourself.

We can't name names here... but sounds so familiar... we probably have the same one:rolleyes:

Mine said the exact things that yours did. And like you, whe has not called back once I booked... kinda glad in away because she talks... and talks... and talks... not just about cruises, about her personal life...guess she is trying to bond... but sometimes, I just don't have all that time...:D

So, did you remove her from your booking? The other problem i have with her, is when i booked, she kindof insisted that i don't do price drops on my own, to be sure and let her do it... i told her, if i can't get ahold of her, i wasn't waiting. She then said she answers her phone even on weekends but not after certain hours and then once again said she doesn't want me to do price drop forms without her because sometimes they don't get approved.

She didn't say this to me until after the booking was finished.

before i booked, she also gave me a sob story over and over about how she is single with kids and struggles with her mom... and i fell for that...
