Unless you hop a ferry or a plane, the only Cayman Island you will be on is Grand Cayman. This is where the Magic will tender.

The two big things on Grand Cayman are the Turtle Farm and Stingray City. We did each of them on separate trips--the turtle farm was part of an island tour. You can also do this on your own. Interestingly, the cost was the same whether as part of the tour or just booking admission thru Boatswain's (where the farm is located). We did Stingray City as part of a 3 stop snorkel tour--also great. Booked both of them thru Captain Marvin's. They will take a credit card number to book, but if for any reason your ship cannot tender, they won't charge your card. We had that happen at least twice--Magic unable to tender due to weather/rough seas.

Grand Cayman is a very safe place. If you want a beach day, you can use public transportation or a cab to any of the main beaches. ALL beaches are public property and free to use; the main ones have vendors renting chairs/umbrellas, selling food, etc. There will be cabs when you are ready to return; if not one of the vendors will call one for you.

You don't give us any idea of ages in your group or interests, but these ideas span a bit of a range. Turtle farm is great for all ages including little kids, but the island tour would bore little ones.

There are several shuttle services that run from FLL to the Port of Miami. Check on line--rates as low as $10 per person are not uncommon. Trip Advisor has several recommendations. Again, that is for a "shared" shuttle. Depending on how many of you there are, you can also book a private service. The shared was not a bad thing with 2 cruisers. They put you together with another party or two with a similar flight time and they track the flights. You don't have to stand around waiting for someone who is on a late flight.
