Ship time or Island time???

It's been a few years since we've been on a cruise, and we are working on planning our excursions. If you're told to be back on board at say, 5:00, is that 5:00 ship time or 5:00 island time? If I remember correctly, it's ship time, but just want to double check before I book anything through a private company. Thanks for any help!!!

Ship time! Be sure to set your watch to ship time when you board. Don't rely on a cell phone or other device that automatically sets the time based on the local time! It would not be fun to be standing on the dock, by yourself, waving at the ship disappearing into the sunset!
