Flob1954 Posted June 13, 2015 #1 Share Posted June 13, 2015 (edited) As Puerto Rico is part of the United States are there extra cellphone charges to the mainland US while there ? Wife and are are on Liberty of the seas with a stop in San Juan. Ship leaves Bayonne June 18. Thanks in advance, Bill Edited June 13, 2015 by Flob1954
wdw1972 Posted June 13, 2015 #2 Share Posted June 13, 2015 Depends on your cell phone carrier - some charge extra, some do not. Unless things have changed, Verizon is one who charges. I think AT&T does not. I know we have Consumer Cellular, which uses the AT&T network, and there's no extra charge for us. I would check your plan - that's the only way to really answer your question. RayInPR Posted June 14, 2015 #3 Share Posted June 14, 2015 Puerto Rico is a US Territory ... so, yes, it is "part of the US". How it is treated by cell carriers depends on your plan ... If you have a typical "nationwide" plan, PR is usually included. Call your cell carrier and verify.
