Joby Posted September 16, 2005 #1 Share Posted September 16, 2005 Hi, earlier this week I asked about ideas for a gift for our Mom's Dr. This morning I called his office and asked the nurse what "things" he liked. She said he was a "red wine connoisseur". Of the ports we will be in (Charleston, Freeport, Nassau, St. Martin, St. Thomas and San Juan) could anyone give me a specific place to look at or a specific name of wine to look for and a price range? texancruzer Posted September 16, 2005 #2 Share Posted September 16, 2005 a much easier gift (to transport) would be a really nice (collectable) wine cork/stopper from one of the ports of call..... I collect them from every place I go and really like the pewter ones with a chain attached to a ring that goes around the neck of the bottle. I have ones that have animals (one is a beautiful turkey that I use at Thanksgiving) and also ones with grapes, seashells etc... the possibilities are endless. There are soooo many items you could get that don't involve lugging around a large bottle (don't know if you are flying or not - but that is a hassle). You could do a search for "wine or wine gifts or wine accessories" and get some good ideas. Good luck.
