marcelknipscheer Posted June 16, 2015 #1 Share Posted June 16, 2015 Hello, We go on the cruise to Norway. We booked in Flam the flamsbana tour. Now we are thinking in Ulvik the tour to the mountain plateau by bus. Anyone experience with this tour? Is it worth the money. In Stavanger we would like to hike up to "Pulpit rock" but i think it takes to much time. So now i thought the boat tour through the fjord under pulpit rock. I know it is expencive thes ships tour but is it worth the money?
hampshirelad Posted June 19, 2015 #2 Share Posted June 19, 2015 You can book a cheap cruise to the rock from the ferries that run on the opposite side of the dock to the cruise ships. Not very exciting there are better things to do in Stavanger
dsrdsrdsr Posted June 20, 2015 #3 Share Posted June 20, 2015 Whether the ship's tour is worth the money depends how much the ship's tour costs. I went with P&O and thought it was worth the money. I also did the same tour independently, and cheaper, and that too was worth the money - even more so. In a sense hampshirelad is right that it wasn't exciting, but scenery trips aren't supposed to be. No one fell off the rock, the boat didn't sink, and the rock didn't fall into the fjord. Even so, it was a very enjoyable trip.
