FieldstonEagle Posted June 16, 2015 #1 Share Posted June 16, 2015 I'm planning on booking the Celebrity Millennium transpacific cruise departing Vancouver in September 2016. However, since my last Celebrity cruise (also on the Millennium) I have retired and one thing I hate is to have to wear a tie Since Azamara, which is country club informal, does not sail this itinerary, Celebrity is my only choice. So my question is: on semi formal and even "formal nights" can I get away in the main dining room and/or specialty restaurants with wearing a blue blazer over a dress shirt with no tie? Thanks for your help.

Thanks for your help. Yes, most certainly, and you will see many others similarly dressed. A tie is never required, although many men choose to wear one. For smart casual nights you can ditch the blazer too. All you need are long trousers with a collared shirt, and even jeans are fine. (Celebrity has no semi formal nights.) The dress code for the specialty restaurants is always smart casual (no "formal nights" there), although some passengers do dress up for the specialty restaurants as well. You will see a wide variety in styles of dress. Don't be surprised if this gets moved into the Celebrity Dress Code Sticky at the top of the forum.
