cassandra44 Posted June 18, 2015 #1 Share Posted June 18, 2015 I just stumbled on the blog in which Lady Carnarvon (of Highclere Castle) writes about her experience at the Christening. http://www.ladycarnarvon.com/the-viking-star/?scid=social_20150529_46658526&adbid=372669176255178&adbpl=fb&adbpr=126951114160320
id4elizabeth Posted June 18, 2015 #2 Share Posted June 18, 2015 A number of passengers on certain segments of the maiden voyage were planning either a pre- or post-excursion Viking tour to Highclere Castle. They were quite disappointed that they were informed by Viking about a month before sailing that the Highclere Castle excursion had been cancelled. One couple had picked the Bergen to Stockholm segment just because of the pre-Highclere Castle tour. They wanted to cancel the whole trip once the Highclere part was cancelled, but it was too late and Viking wouldn't let them out of the deal without substantial penalty. No one I spoke to had gotten a reason for the cancellation of the Highclere part. Instead they were just offered the same number of days in London.
