starq1 Posted September 17, 2005 #1 Share Posted September 17, 2005 Do any offer transportation to and from the peir?
TrentS Posted September 17, 2005 #2 Share Posted September 17, 2005 No need to worry about that, if you stay in one of the downtown hotels it's only a $5-10 cab ride across the bridge and to your ship.
starq1 Posted September 17, 2005 Author #3 Share Posted September 17, 2005 Thanks, Can you recommend any of them? We have never been to the area? We have heard that the Manderian Oriental(sp) is really nice. Is this far from the pier? Would it be considered a downtown hotel?
TrentS Posted September 17, 2005 #4 Share Posted September 17, 2005 Mandarin Oriental is WONDERFUL, one of the very best hotels in Miami! It's 5-10 minutes from the Port of Miami, and would be an EXCELLENT choice if you're willing to pay the price of admission ;) Downtown Miami hotels... closest to the Port of Miami and Bayside Marketplace... http://www.baysidemarketplace.com/ Mandarin Oriental... http://www.mandarinoriental.com/hotel/526000001.asp Four Seasons... http://www.fourseasons.com/miami/index.html Conrad International... http://conradhotels.hilton.com/en/ch/hotels/index.jhtml?ctyhocn=MIACICI JW Marriott... http://marriott.com/property/propertypage/miajw Intercontinental... http://www.ichotelsgroup.com/h/d/ic/1/en/hd/miaha?irs=null Hyatt Regency... http://miamiregency.hyatt.com/property/index.jhtml Biscayne Bay Marriott... http://marriott.com/property/propertypage/miabb Marriott Courtyard (for the budget minded)... http://www.miamicourtyard.com/ Holiday Inn (for the budget minded)... http://www.ichotelsgroup.com/h/d/hi/1/en/hd/miabb If you prefer to be on the beach, these South Beach hotels are 15 minutes from the Port of Miami... Flytanya Posted October 5, 2005 #5 Share Posted October 5, 2005 I hope I don't sound too ignorant, but I live in Iowa and we don't take cabs very often. Can someone please tell me if the cab fares that are being quoted are for the cab or per person? If it's per cab, how many people will they allow in a cab? We have 5 adults and 3 kids, hoping to stay in Miami pre- and post-cruise and hopefully not be renting a car.:o Thanks!!!
TrentS Posted October 5, 2005 #6 Share Posted October 5, 2005 Cab fare is for the entire cab... Generally no more than 4 passengers per cab. Depending on where you're staying you may want to consider renting a van, in many cases it's cheaper, and a whole lot more convenient.
