Great Upgrade!!

We booked an inside guarantee on the Infinity Panama trip for December.

DW decided she would be claustrophobic in an inside, so we upped it to

an outside guarantee. I checked the Celebrity site this morning and we've

been upgraded to a 2c "Deluxe outside veranda". Not too shabby!:D

Those are the double size balconies (80 sq ft not 40)

Not the big balcony, but near the elevator which is just as good.

The main reason for my post is that I've read several messages lately

that Celebrity didn't upgrade much and if they did it's usually only

one or two catagories. So there's always hope.

Celebrity made some new friends and we haven't even been on the ship yet.

The same thing happened to us on our first cruise with HAL - we had booked an ordinary verandah cabin on the Oosterdam and got upgraded to a suite - not just SS, but S! It was spectacular!

Congrats Chip. We got a small upgrade with our gty as well. I think a lot has to do with your travel agent and how many cruises you've booked.

 

We didn't get anything as great as a balcony for an outside, but we have been breaking in a new agent and just yesterday we received a box full of goodies -- tee-shirts, a soft sided cooler, funky mouse pads, a zippered tote, etc. Great prices and a box of fun... we couldn't ask for more!

 

Let's hope the upgrade fairy continues to drop that fairy dust on us! :p
