Currently on the Anthem, any questions?

Hi RavennaM. Thank you for the information on the Windjammer. We had the same opinion as you from our past cruise, but we will try it again based on your good experience.

Would you please inquire as to where to find Caviar on Anthem? On other ships, it is typically found at the Champagne Bar, but Anthem doesn't have a Champagne Bar. Perhaps the head waiter might be a good person to ask?

Hey! Hope your enjoying your holiday.

I know all the drinks package questions have been raised and answered a million times, but I just have one more. We always get the drinks package, and we feel it works great for us, however, I'm sure at one point a noticed that people were saying that if the package is purchased on the ship, rather than online before you go, they often have buy on get one half price. I don't suppose you've seen this offer advertised onboard on your sailing.

This in advance for your reply.

Mike thanks so much I have found this very helpful! I am wondering if you did DIY excursions in places like Marseille, Lisbon and Cadiz, where we will going during our cruise later this summer--also if you went to Vigo or Cartagena interested in those as well. Hope you had a great trip!

Marseille caught the ships transfer and the waked upto the cathedral

cadiz we walked around the perimeter of the old town, visited the two castles (free entry) then walked through the gardens, was better than we expected, walk was about 6 miles

lisbon we caught the train and spent the day in the beam area, 2 tickets return cost 6 euros

cartegana we visited the romantic ampetheatre, walking distance the ealked up tge hil to the castle

vigo, been before and did not like, this time we walked up to the castle and had a great time, a complete difference to saying in the town, gain free entry, great views and gardens

Gibraltar, we even walked up to the top of the Rock and back gain, this time 7.5 miles , we have GPS tracling on our tablets

La spezia walked to the train station and visited cinque terre

Search online for more info and study the Google maps before going

Is this is famous beef on weck that I keep hearing people rave about.

I have to say I'm very excited about CaféTwo70 as it look wonderful in your photos and photos I've seen elsewhere. It's so much larger than I expected.

Yes that's the one!

The other must have that was suggested was the chilli chicken wings in the Pub, they were great but slightly lacking in the number you got considering it was $5. I just put it down to the on-board credit and considered them free :)

Now I'm not much of a cider drinker but the Aspalls was so quaffable it was a joy to drink. It matched the wings perfectly. (Comes under the drinks package too)

It was the most spicy thing on the ship without having to add anything!

One thing I noticed that seemed unusual was the sounds you could hear in the bathroom. The air vent in the shower was obviously a direct connection to the neighbours shower, you could hear voices and if they were showering or umm doing other things. I did record some of it, never heard anything like it

Hi, the beverage package was exactly the same on board as it would have been online.

Haven't seen caviar anywhere. Not really my thing. Somehow I think it is not available here.

I am considering booking an inside M cabin on deck 13. The diagram looks as if the forward hall leads to the lower level of the solarium. Do you happen to know if this is the case? Also, those forward M inside cabins will be directly below deck 14 of the solarium. Have you happened to hear about excessive noise in those cavins. I thank you so much for entertaining all of the questions on this thread. I have learned so much.

The "Champagne bar" is the North Star bar, didn't see any caviar though.
Thank you (I didn't know that.) Per some 2 to 3 year old Cruise Critic posts, Caviar was served between 5:00 to 5:30 pm. I'll ask if I don't see it, and then I'll report back. Give me 155 days or so. :D

Can't believe there's no draught beer....... Bottles just wouldn't cut it for 14 days, I'm afraid[emoji107] however, I'm sure the ship itself would be fab??? RC does it very well in my book! Enjoy.

Plenty of draught beers on Anthem. Heineken, Stella Artois, speckled hen, Guinness, Boddingtons, Brooklyn Lager just off the top of my head.

I only saw Stella at two bars (pool bar and upper music hall), no Speckled Hen, Guinness only in Michaels pub, no Boddingtons anywhere or Brooklyn Lager.

Where was the Speckled Hen??

I thought I visited all the bars!

Hi, yes the draught Guinness was in Michael's, alongside the Brooklyn Lager and one other American draught beer of which I can't recall. Boddingtons was on draught downstairs in the music hall but not upstairs and rather bizarrely, the old speckled hen was available upstairs at the pool bar under the north star.

So there was plenty of draught but it did pop up in funny places!

Mike,

Were these wings in "Michael's Genuine Pub", or in "Prince and Greene" (described on the RCI website as "An authentic English pub")?

Thank you!

Robert

This was very iritating the best pint of draft on the ship only available on the top deck, old speckled hen , they also had Heineken but they could never get the temp and gas set so it was generally too warm and froffy, had to cool it down with ice.

The Stella on draft in the music hall tasted like no Stella I have drunk before, tried it a couple of times and could not drink it, way too much gas, good job I was not paying for it

The fullers draft larger in the pub was too sweet, the best bdrink here was the guiness

Problem was only the pub has guineas, so I had a long walk from 270, to get a refill, as no draft in 270, and only one barman and massive queues

The bar at 270 was tiny considering the number of people in the place, very limited waiter service too especially on the upper level.

The music hall bar should have been a lot bigger too, in fact the music hall was too small downstairs for everyone that wanted to be there. IMO it was the best entertainment venue late into the evening, they could have lost some of the casino and made it bigger for me.
