Same here. Italy won't be an issue, but we'll most likely book something for Marseilles as the only one of our party that speaks French will be 8 when we cruise. Probably not an issue, but I think she'll have more fun on a tour. (Kiddo goes to a French school.) Next cruise: Carnival Vista - July 2016

No one in our group spoke French but we had no issue getting a cab to the Old Port, taking Le Petit Train to Notre Dame de la Garde and shopping in the many lovely shops. Our only issue was the menus when we stopped for lunch. Very few cafes had translated menus, but we did manage to find one and had a lovely lunch. We enjoyed the Old Port so much we plan to return on our May 2016 cruise and hopefully take the ferry to Chateau d'If this time. We couldn't in 2013 due to high winds. fruitbat Posted July 30, 2015 #9 Share Posted July 30, 2015 We are also planning on doing the ferry to Chateau d'If and then to Frioul. Maybe with a picnic...

It was shut down due to high winds on our last trip in 2013 so we are very much looking forward to it this time. Hopefully the weather will cooperate this time!
