Best of Grand Cayman NCL tour or on our own?

We are debating buying the NCL tour of GC for our cruise in December on the Spirit. The price is hefty-$70 pp but I know tendering may be an issue and if we do a ship tour we get priority-right? Are there comparable tours offered at the port at GC? We really want to go to HELL and the turtle farm. TIA!:)

Check out a company called Nativeway. You can pick and choose various options, they are much less expensive than NCL, and you don't have to pay anything up front. This is good in case the port is missed. Also check the Grand Cayman page on the ports of call forum here for lots of other input and suggestions.

I highly recommend checking out Moby Dick Tours. 2 British men living on the island for years, very friendly and knowledgeable. Stingray city was amazing.

Grand Cayman is a place that you can tour on your own. There is a local bus that can take you out there cheap.

 

There is lot's of time in port to do this and wander around. When we go there we just walk. It is a beautiful port to just wander around and you can keep busy there all day on your own.

 

Another thing, my mom got a tour and went to Hell and the turtle farm for 10 bucks from a lady on the street selling small bus tours. (she had to pay for turtle farm)
