Tarheelbelle Posted September 20, 2005 #1 Share Posted September 20, 2005 Most of the cruise lines I have been on change the ship's time to be what the local time is---i.e if we changed time zones, we changed our clocks. Rarely, I have sailed on a ship that kept the same time as the embarkation time zone. How does Norwegian do this? When I was booking an excursion recently for my upcoming NCL Dawn cruise, I told them the times we were to be in port and the agent said to me "that is ship's time, which would be___ in our time." So it led me to believe that Norwegian will keep Eastern Standard Time throughout the cruise [sailing out of NY in November]. Is this correct?
MIcruisers3 Posted September 20, 2005 #2 Share Posted September 20, 2005 No, the ship changes to the local port time. When I was on the Dawn last year for New Years, they reminded us to change the clocks since Caribbean countries don't have daylight savings time. Tarheelbelle Posted September 21, 2005 Author #3 Share Posted September 21, 2005 That's a relief! I have no problems changing my watch---I have a big problem trying to keep up with ship time vs local time!
