getting luggage from train in Seward to ship

We are taking the train from Anchorage to Seward the morning we depart on our cruise. The train arrives in Seward at about 11:15 AM, and apparently we cannot board the ship until 2:30 PM at the earliest. How close is the train station to the ship? I understand some cruise lines allow you to check luggage on the train and it will automatically transfer to that particular ship. Is this true for Celebrity?

We put our luggage tags on before we board the train and the next time we saw them, they were in our cabin.

It's been a few years, so ask at the train station if that's how it works.

We did this on a HAL cruise, but were travelling independently. We had to drag our luggage from the train to the cruise terminal, but it was only about a 10 minute or less walk. There were taxis but not many and we were too impatient to wait for one to return. We checked in earlier than we were told to, no problem. That was in 2008, so quite a few years ago now! Loved our time in Alaska, would repeat that cruise any day. Have a great time jpohio.

Just completed this itinerary on Millennium, We were able to board just after 11:00am but cabins were not ready until the usual time - 1:30pm. This was our easiest embarkation ever. Seems that most of the passengers were on excursions that did not return to the ship until late afternoon for the 8:00pm departure. We had the buffet almost to ourselves, no lines, choice of dozens of empty tables.

Seward offers a free shuttle in an old yellow school bus that runs about every 15-20 minutes from 8:00am until 7 or 8 pm. The bus stops at the RR station and will take you to the cruise port if you prefer not to walk.

We did this trip four years ago. We travelled independently prior to the cruise and took the train to Seward two days before our sailing date to explore the area. We checked our luggage on the train and they delivered it to our hotel for us. When we checked in it was waiting for us in the ”luggage” room at the hotel. I believe they will deliver the luggage to any location within Seward upon arrival...call ARR and ask them if they deliver to the ship.
