Boatyard Walk

I haven't been there yet, but I have read a few reviews that mentioned the group walked there. I believe it's about a 30 minute walk. The boatyard is popular with cruise ship crew members so maybe when you get off the ship, see if you notice any of the crew walking and if so, follow them.

When we were there in 2012, we walked to Carlisle Bay (Boatyard) from the ship with no problem. It took around 20 mins. Just follow the coastline then cross the bridge and carry on and it's on your right.

If the boatyard you are referring to is down by the bridge and Parliament Building then it is 100% safe. My group took a catamaran tour, but went right back to the ship after, while I wanted to see a couple sights. Instead of paying the solo taxi fare, I decided to walk back, taking a pretty good pace for an older, fat guy.

The group was very surprised how fast I made it back... less than 15 minutes.

If you have a group and want quick, take a taxi, but it is a safe and straight forward walk back.
