FlCatLover Posted July 28, 2015 #1 Share Posted July 28, 2015 Six or seven years ago we stayed at a reasonably priced hotel on a good bus route a ways from Canada Place. We have booked a cruise from there again for next year July and I can't remember what the name of the hotel was. Does anyone know of a reasonably priced, decent, safe hotel on a bus route? We would like a room with at least a divider with a pullout bed as it will be my husband, me and my adult son.
Rare martincath Posted July 28, 2015 #2 Share Posted July 28, 2015 (edited) That was the Comfort Inn in Richmond (Search is very useful, it's worth figuring out... for someone with relatively few posts like yourself you can also just scroll through your previous posts...) At the time, the Canada Line was still under construction which would explain why you'd take a bus from Richmond - now that it's working, the optimal location for cheap hotels is as close as possible to BRIDGEPORT Skytrain station. You can walk from the Hampton Inn airport, Best Western Alcorn, Days Inn airport in about 10mins - the River Rock casino is right next to the station but expensive enough that you may as well stay downtown proper instead. Best value in town for multiple people is without doubt the YWCA hotel. It's actually downtown, does not inflate prices on holidays etc., and has rooms for up to five people. Easy walk into Yaletown, Chinatown, Gastown. Edited July 28, 2015 by martincath spelling
FlCatLover Posted July 28, 2015 Author #3 Share Posted July 28, 2015 Thank you martincath. I'm still figuring out how things work but will certainly look up the hotels you mentioned.
xlxo Posted July 29, 2015 #4 Share Posted July 29, 2015 Thoughts... I was kinda confused as there was never public transit service to/from Canada Place. Closest stops is at the Waterfront station, which is 5 minute walk away for the Canada Line and the former 98 BLine Comfort Inn Richmond on Sea Island is no more. But there are several hotels in the area. My fav Richmond hotel is the Raddison Airport (No 3 and Cambie) where the subway station is so convenient across the street. Bridgeport station hotels are either pricey or a significant walk to the station.http://www.expedia.ca/Vancouver-Hotels-Radisson-Hotel-Vancouver-Airport.h14039.Hotel-Information Empire Landmark, Blue Horizon and the Hampton Inn downtown are popular budget choices in downtown Vancouver. Floridanamaw Posted August 10, 2015 #5 Share Posted August 10, 2015 We stayed at the Blue Horizon last year and really like it. Great location, reasonably priced and very nice place to stay.
