Kcjarvis Posted July 30, 2015 Author #26 Share Posted July 30, 2015 At 3:15 pm we had an easy muster drill, I wonder if people on our sister Freedom took the muster drill as seriously as they should have. We then headed back to our cabin to await sail away. Some of our social media cruise buddies came to see us off - What a great surprise!!!!!! At 3:55pm, the Capt came on to say we would be delayed due to an azipod test. We then got the bad feeling this would turn into Summit of the Seas. Surprisingly, we were still being provisioned. At 6:15pm, the Capt announced we were ready to go and we would be on time to Bermuda!!!!! We noticed this family leaving the ship and wondered what their issue was??? SpongeAlan Posted July 30, 2015 #32 Share Posted July 30, 2015 Just curious because I was on the Liberty earlier this month. Was smoked salmon served for breakfast? How was the food? I happen to love the Smoked Salmon for breakfast. It was on the menu at the Dining room Breakfast. Now as far as the Windjammer, it was only placed out on the buffet one day. However, if you asked, which I did, it was available and they would serve you as much as you needed. Only by request though. I know in the past it was put out daily. I assume that due to the high cost of this item, they are trying to limit the amount provided.

2005pony Posted July 30, 2015 #34 Share Posted July 30, 2015 Do you have current knowledge of parking availability at the pier? I've seen conflicting info of a ramp being close to the RCCL pier bldg, but others saying it may not yet be open. Would appreciate if you have info

cruzinlady1947 Posted July 31, 2015 #40 Share Posted July 31, 2015 After a great dinner, we came home to a nice C&A gift Enjoying your review and photos. Thanks. We, too, are on the Sept. 24th cruise. I put a link on our roll call for your review. Curious, what was the C&A gift for? Are they starting to give gifts again, like they used to. I hope so. I really miss them. Looks like a nice gift too. Can't wait to be on the Liberty for the first time. A new ship for us. The largest we have ever been on too. Kcjarvis Posted July 31, 2015 Author #41 Share Posted July 31, 2015 Woke up on approach to Heritage Wharf - Our 1st time in Bermuda Our plan for the day, take the ferry over to Hamilton to have breakfast and explore, then head over to Horseshoe Bay Beach. We were off the ship at 8:30 am A quick 5 min walk past the ferry dock to the Visitor Center to buy tokens - $4.50 one way
SpongeAlan Posted July 31, 2015 #42 Share Posted July 31, 2015 Do you have current knowledge of parking availability at the pier? I've seen conflicting info of a ramp being close to the RCCL pier bldg, but others saying it may not yet be open. Would appreciate if you have info I had no issues parking at all. Not sure what you are speaking of. We dropped off passengers and luggage. I drove to the lot, paid and parked. Back to the terminal in less than 5 minutes. Kcjarvis Posted July 31, 2015 Author #44 Share Posted July 31, 2015 After breakfast, we jumped into a $21 cab to Horseshoe - about a 20 min ride The line for chairs was long, but moved quickly. In Bermuda, you have to carry your own chairs and umbrellas - $11 plus $5 deposit EACH!!!!!!! $48 and I have to lug my own chairs ???? The beach is beautiful, but it wouldn't make my Top 5 Beaches of the Caribbean list - Also the sand isn't pink. It has microscopic pink flakes. Sorry. Kcjarvis Posted July 31, 2015 Author #45 Share Posted July 31, 2015 After a few hours at the beach, we lugged our chairs back to get our deposit, then we made our way to the taxi stand. It was a madhouse!!!! Since Bermuda is a premier location, I guess we expected better transportation infrastructure. Taxi van to the left, shuttle to the top of the hill for the public bus, and the direct shuttle to the ship on the right. People were not happy. After about 20 mins, we jumped into the $7 pp van for the 20 min ride back to Lady Liberty.

Kcjarvis Posted July 31, 2015 Author #49 Share Posted July 31, 2015 A great day at sea followed by a 1pm arrival in St Martin. Quickly off the ship at 1:15pm. We were going to rent a car. The rental office is located on the right as you come off the pier.
