pucarter Posted April 13, 2004 #26 Share Posted April 13, 2004 Mary -- just remember: Opinions are like (butt)holes; everyone's got one, and everyone thinks everyone else's stinks! Like you, I get concerned about negative reviews, but I'll tell you what -- there's always going to be SOMEone unhappy with SOMEthing. Don't let someone else's negativity affect what YOU do. You'll have a GREAT time on this ship, I'm sure. I'm planning to do the same on JUNE 19th!!!! (Can you tell I'm excited?!?!? ) Hang in there -- bon voyage! roe2ship Posted April 13, 2004 #27 Share Posted April 13, 2004 Carol, thanks for claifying this because I was just thinking about the same thing with the Personal Choice being so simple on other Princess ships and most likely the "inaugural blues" will disappear. The same experiences seem to be found for personal choice on the Diamond the first few weeks. So it has to be the "new" ships. CruiseFever Posted April 13, 2004 #28 Share Posted April 13, 2004 I'll try to add to this without the use colorful aphorisms. karen-
quote:
...what is the point of PC dining if you have to make a reservation the same time every night? is it just that people did not like the "traditional" dining times for some reason?

In our case, traditional was not an option as it was full and seems to fill way in advance. Rather than going to the dining room to beg or bribe our way in at the beginning of the cruise we went for PC dining and it was fabulous. Initially we DID want traditional so the option of picking a table and waiter for the same time every night was just what we were looking for. I should probably note that we eat early, like when the dining room opened at 5:30pm, so accomodating us was probably easier than if we wanted to dine at a more popular time. Still, we saw many of the same people every night. Schoolbob-
quote:
How do I know when I want to eat dinner four days from now?

I think this whole PC thing was made with you in mind; should work like a charm for you I'd bet. Jacqueline Posted April 13, 2004 #29 Share Posted April 13, 2004 When we were on the Grand last year they would not let us make reservations ! I no longer remember what the reasoning is- perhaps group size. We were always seated when we showed up (at about the same time- early) at the same table. I guess this is the problem when you have 500 extra pax onboard and no additonal space in the dining room.
