TGOCRUISERS Posted August 5, 2015 #1 Share Posted August 5, 2015 We booked and paid in full for this cruise in December of 2013. We were really excited about the entire cruise, but mostly London and Paris. We have booked the Paris tour and are really hoping to be assured that it will happen. We are not happy with the $500.00 shipboard credit offered and have no use for it, we would prefer that as a refund. As far as future Viking cruises, how we are treated on this one will determine if we use Viking again. We have done the Viking Grande European cruise and loved it. We have referred many to Viking. We are still waiting to see if Viking offers a more generous compensation, before we decide whether or not to cancel this trip. We are also wondering what other passengers booked on this cruise are going to do (Cancel or Go)?
Viking Cruises Posted August 5, 2015 #2 Share Posted August 5, 2015 Dear TGOCRUISERS, Thank you for the kind words about your recent Grand European Tour cruise – we are delighted to hear you enjoyed yourself! Of course, we regret to hear you are left dissatisfied with the compensation extended prior to your long-anticipated August 8th sailing aboard Viking Star. If you haven’t done so already, we would encourage you to contact us directly at tellus@vikingcruises.com so that we may discuss options with you. We look forward to hearing from you! TIZ-EYE Posted August 6, 2015 #3 Share Posted August 6, 2015 Yes, we very seriously considered cancelling our August 8 trip. However, we loved our two previous Viking River tours and decided to try to make the best of it. We are very disappointed that our "almost false advertising" of two days London and two days Paris, won't happen at all.
traveltwin Posted August 6, 2015 #4 Share Posted August 6, 2015 So very sorry about all of this. We sailed on the June 27th Homelands from Stockholm to Bergen and had a really wonderful time. ship, staff, lecturers, food were all terrific. and we were wonderfully lucky with the weather. I do hope things will settle down and everyone can have the lovely experience we had!!!!
TGOCRUISERS Posted August 6, 2015 Author #5 Share Posted August 6, 2015 We have decided to go on the cruise. We are disappointed that will be missing London and possibly our Paris tour. Our previous cruises with Viking were great, so we believe they will make this one special. Hope to see you all in Bergen. Frank & Jeanne
