1st time from fort lauderdale so a few questions.

Planning on staying at a hotel in fort lauderdale for two nights prior to cruise so any recommendations appreciated and which car rental companies have offices close to the port where we can drop the car off and get dropped at port in a shuttle?

Thrifty has an office right at the gate to the port. Also has a shuttle service.

Alamo/National offer shuttle from their airport location to the port. All others are remote.

Hertz at Crown Plaza Hotel at 24th street port entrance.

Thrifty/Dollar US1 at 24th street port entrance

Sixt up 17th street .

Budget next to Renaissance hotel at 17th street port entrance.

Avis at the Hyatt pier 66 hotel.

I have used Sixt several times. They are close to the port and have a free shuttle as well. Plus their prices are very good.

I've rented from Alamo, Budget, and Sixt from PE. Alamo was the quickest and easiest.

We have stayed at the Hyatt Pier 66 several times and they have Avis on their property.

 

It is also very close to the port.
