Oasis and Freedom switching ports?

Recommended Posts

I heard a rumor that Oasis and Freedom of the Seas would be switching ports sometime next year. Anyone know if this is true? If so, when will the switch be made?

I am thinking of doing a cruise on one of the two, but it would be helpful to know which port to book flights.

Also, if they switch ports, will they switch itineraries (as Freedom visits George Town, Grand Cayman, and Oasis does not)?

Oasis will be moving to PC in November 2016. At that time, Freedom will be moving to Fort Lauderdale to do rotating 6 and 8 night itineraries. (Technically Harmony is the ship that is replacing Oasis). Oasis itineraries from PC will be similar to Freedom's, but will visit Nassau instead of CocoCay on the Eastern itinerary, and skip Grand Cayman on the Western itinerary.

It's not a rumor. Oasis is going to Port Canaveral and Freedom is headed to Ft. Lauderdale. The change should take place in the later part of next year when the Harmony arrives in the US at Ft. Lauderdale.

Currently RCI have called the deployment of Oasis, Freedom, Serenade and Indy winter seasonal deployments for 2016-17 and these cruises are already open for sale.

Freedom takes the Navigator 8/6 night sailings at Port Everglades. Indy keeps the 4/5 night sailings at Port Everglades. Serenade takes the longer 10/11 night sailings.

Oasis is currently re-deployed for the winter season to Port Canaveral allowing for the arrival of Harmony to her new year-round home port at Port Everglades.
