No, there are no lifeboats underneath, your cabin is about above "Norwegian" text (didn't count the exact location), but on the other side of the ship:

IMO, you have the best location on the ship. Just a short walk down your hall and you can exit directly to the Waterfront area on either side of the ship. Or walk forward a little farther and you are smack in the middle of the decks 678 bars, restaurants, casino and other entertainment venues. Yet, it is very quiet in your forward location. You lucked out. I have booked this location twice.

Which sailing are you on? I upgraded to a guaranteed balcony a few weeks ago for my Sept 5 sailing and it hasn't been assigned yet. not too worried, am assuming they're just trying to get all the "refular" upgrades taken care of before figuring out what's left for us guaranteed people.

I'm sailing in Oct. I'm sure it's probably has to do with how many rooms are left? Maybe your sailing still has a lot of cabins left?

In my opinion, you have a great location. I was on deck 8 last cruise and I booked it again for next cruise. Being in a mid level deck, you will feel less rocking if the ship hits rough waters, plus you are right down the hall from all the action. Don't worry, it's not noisy there. Only people that are in rooms down that hallway will be passing your door, it's not on the main drag.

I just got my balcony guaranteed assigned for my August 29 th cruise 8758. So hoping I'm ok. Found one review on this cabin and the man complained that the balcony door creaked so loud all night that couldn't sleep even with ear plugs. Hope not the case

Hey, I'm booked on the Getaway in GTY balcony for Sept. 12th sailing. None of us balcony GTYS are assigned yet, and this is my first time booking a GTY balcony. Can you tell how you were notified of your assignment and were your edocs reissued to reflect the cabin assognment? Thanks, and I hope you have a super cruise with a non-creaky door!

I just noticed my e docks were ready to print and my cabin was listed on them. Before my docks we're not ready to print.

You won't get notified about the assignment, you just need to visit MyNCL and check for yourself. And yes, you can download updated eDocs later if something like cabin number changes.

Your question's already been answered but I wanted to add that when I called my TA to change my room, my edocs (and luggage tags) were already updated on the NCL site before I was off even the phone with her. I was impressed with how quickly it was updated!

Me too! Did I mention that the reason I called my TA was to go from a BX to picking my own room because I couldn't take the uncertainty anymore? [emoji56] As a result of an unusual confluence of events, I booked relatively spur of the moment with (for me) very little research (which is how I ended up in a guarantee; had wanted to do Studio, but it sold out an hour before!), but after I found this site and was able to do a ton of research, I just had to be in control again, lol! So, I completely understand. Hope you get a fantastic room!

No, Dana. I didn't know. If you explained in an earlier post, I hadn't read that far back. What a coincidence about the studio cabin...I did a studio on this same cruise and itinerary last year and was going to do it again, but they made me a deal for a balcony that I just couldn't pass up. Really, I'm sure I'll be happy with whatever I get, but the anticipation is killing me. This is the one area where I'll cop to being a control freak. Once I know the cabin location, I'll start planning my routes to the pool, spa, theatre, dining, etc. I want to know everything before I get there so I can just relax and go with flow. I'm glad someone else gets that.

I am 8772 I will sleep through everything so not a problem for me. It was just funny finding someone so close on the boards.

With the prices dropping yesterday, I was able to get a spa balcony. Now I'm in 14114. They refunded my $179 for the spa for the week I paid. And ended up being$38 dollars cheaper. Need to check and see with cheaper fare now if you can get a mini suite or spa for same price.

I ended up getting my cabin assignment last week. I think I ended up with 12856, which is a family balcony. It's a connecting room, which I'm not thrilled about, but since guaranteed cabins are the luck of the draw I don't think it's too bad. I was trying to figure out the room orientation using the deck plans and I think it's got the sofa by the balcony. Since it's my first balcony I'm sure I'll be happy with the cabin, whatever the set up but I've read some people prefer having the bed by the balcony.

You can get a spa balcony but yes spa min suites are sold out. What I hear from my TA mini suites are not worth the difference in price since they are only slightly larger and balcony size the same.
