Jenniell Posted August 12, 2015 #1 Share Posted August 12, 2015 We really enjoyed the extra space and tub on our last vacation but only the kiddo really used the balcony. Does an Ocean View Suite exist??? If not can I get them to remodel the ship just for me??
PCHENG Posted August 12, 2015 #2 Share Posted August 12, 2015 (edited) If I understand you correctly, you want to know if Carnival has any suite that has picture windows but no balcony (akin to the window suite of Princess or the Family Suite on NCL). The answer to that is no. The closest thing in my mind to an ocean view suite is a 6k cabin. At 280 sq. ft, it is almost as large as the interior of an ocean suite, but it has shower only. SadieN Posted August 12, 2015 #3 Share Posted August 12, 2015 Some newer Carnival ships have a family cabin that sleeps 5 with two baths. One regular, one toilet and tub. Not a suite and even if you have to pay for all 5 berths it still might be cheaper than a suite.
D4 Posted August 12, 2015 #4 Share Posted August 12, 2015 (edited) Some newer Carnival ships have a family cabin that sleeps 5 with two baths. One regular, one toilet and tub. Not a suite and even if you have to pay for all 5 berths it still might be cheaper than a suite. The Breeze has deluxe oceanview cabins. The cabin is larger than a balcony cabin on the same ship, but not as large as the suites. The 2nd bathroom is super useful, but it is very small - it has a sink and a junior tub/shower combo. It is not a full size tub like we've had in ocean suites. It is functional and would be great for children that don't take a shower, but I can't imagine an adult relaxing in that tub. I've taken showers in it. I doubt that Carnival will remodel a ship for you :) Most people that want a suite probably also want a balcony. And for people that book guarantee cabins; most people that book a balcony guarantee would be furious if they were "upgraded" to a suite without a balcony. Jenniell Posted August 12, 2015 Author #5 Share Posted August 12, 2015 Thank you so much for all of the info!!! I'm sure the ocean views are significantly cheaper than the suite we booked so in the long run it could save us some cash to lose at the casino! The deluxe oceanview cabins only cost a little more than regular oceanview cabins. You only pay for the number of passengers in your cabin (as long as there are at least 2 people; you don't pay for any extra capacity the cabin may hold.). The deluxe OV we were in only had 2 beds and a sofa bed. I was surprised all the cabins of this type weren't equipped for 4-5 people.
Rare Tapi Posted August 13, 2015 #7 Share Posted August 13, 2015 Want suite square footage without the balcony or the suite price? Get two Oceanview staterooms with a connecting door! That's what we did for our last family cruise and absolutely loved it. And the difference in price for two double staterooms vs just one stateroom for 4 was minimal, plus we had an extra full bathroom and more privacy. Getting two staterooms was the best cruise related decision I've made in a very long time! [emoji2]
