Where to buy Spanish Tile? Alicante - Malaga - Cadiz

Hi there!

I will be in Alicante - Malaga and Cadiz on my cruise in November

While in these cities I want to buy some Spanish tile for my home - not a major amount of it - just the accent pieces. Does anyone have any places they can recommend for this? Nearby markets or tile factory in any of those ports?

Thanks for any help!

The main place for these near Alicante is a town called Agost. It is about 11 miles inland from the city but you would need a car or taxi to get there.

Another place where you will find some is Guadalest. Most cruise lines do an excursion to here. Apart from the ceramic and handicraft shops it is a nice place to visit.

I cannot think of anywhere in Alicante itself - the department store Corte Ingles may have a few but I doubt there would be a great selection.

The region of Andulucia with Malaga, Cadiz and Seville all produce fantastic artesian tiles. Many even work on commission and will use a unique design just for the clients special project or needs.

While you will find some examples spotted through the tourist areas, these artisans often work out of studios that can often be remote.

In Malaga you might check these shops in the central area for 'Ceramica'

There is a website featuring many of the artist all over Spain, but the website is only in Spanish except for a couple of pages under the 'mapa web'

thank you so much for the info! I am excited to see that there is a lot available in the ports I'll be in!

In Malaga there are many apparently 'tourist' type shops along Calle Santa Maria, which is the street beside the Cathedral that runs to the Plaza de la Constitucion from Calle Cister. As well as tacky 'touristy' tiles you will find the genuine Andaluz/Spanish patterns and will be spoilt for choice.
