Britbrie Posted August 21, 2015 Author #26 Share Posted August 21, 2015 After sail away, mom and I went to look at the gift shops and checked out some of the sales. We ended up going down to Deck 3 and purchased the Bottomless Bubbles. Speaking of Bottomless Bubbles, since this is my Review and I can adequately complain, this ship was the WORST with it. I know some of the ships have issues serving the guests with the Bottomless Bubbles program, and it aggravates them... but I mean it's your job! I would much rather get my own Diet Coke, or them just give me the can... but that's not how it works, so don't take it out on me and ignore me! I purchase a good bit of alcohol from Carnival, so it's not like I'm a 'cheap' cruiser. Anyways, sorry for the rant! Mom and I chilled on Deck 3 for a while, and then went back up to the room to get ready for dinner. We were seated on the upper floor of the Platinum Dining Room for the late seating. Overall, our service was fantastic the first night and we were excited to have an amazing dining team. This was our first experience with the American Table menu. We really liked that they left a small basket of bread at your table, instead of having to ask for more.
Britbrie Posted August 21, 2015 Author #27 Share Posted August 21, 2015 For starters, Dad ordered the calamari I got the shrimp cocktail (I have an obsession...) Mom got a garden salad After we finished our appetizers, our entrees were brought to the table like clockwork! This team was very efficient at refilling our drinks and bringing out our food. I ordered the brisket, which was very good. Both Mom and Dad ordered the shrimp and fried rice
Britbrie Posted August 21, 2015 Author #28 Share Posted August 21, 2015 We placed our dessert orders, and then the Maitre D came around and introduced himself to everyone. Mom got the no sugar added strawberry panacotta I ordered the Nutella Tiramisu, which while I did not taste Nutella... it was still AMAZING! Dad ordered the Carnival Classic: WCMC! After dinner, everyone headed to the Amber Palace where they were starting $500 3 game bingo. We elected not to play, and took our seats for the Welcome Aboard Show. Once bingo was over, Adam--the Cruise Director, came out and introduced himself. We were expecting there to be an actual show, however it ended up being 30 minutes of him talking about upcoming events. It was kind of disappointing, but the shows on subsequent nights made up for it! After the show, we went to the Lobby Bar and ordered some drinks. We walked around the ship, and checked out the casino before calling it a night. Everyone was exhausted, and ready for the next day! Up Next: Half Moon Cay! Eng23 Posted August 21, 2015 #33 Share Posted August 21, 2015 Hi! Nice to see a Glory review. The Glory was my first Carnival cruise and it was right after getting all the good 2.0 features like Guy's Burger's, Blue Iguana, and Redfrog Rum Bar. I look forward to following your adventure on the Glory! :)
Britbrie Posted August 21, 2015 Author #34 Share Posted August 21, 2015 The Carnival Glory arrived at Half Moon Cay around 9 am. While waiting for the Tenders to start, we went up to Deck 9 to grab some breakfast. For breakfast, mom chose to get an omelet at the buffet while I chose to grab a breakfast burrito from the Blue Iguana Cantina. After breakfast, we went down to Deck 5 to grab our tender stickers. Around 5 minutes later, they called our tender number and we were in line to get off of the ship! The tender ride was very short, and the ships can pack a LOT of guests on them. We bypassed everything, and went straight to the beach! Dad walked down the beach to find us a clamshell (which we rented for $25). We stayed in the water for hours, it was so beautiful!! We were getting hungry, so we decided to go down to the barbecue for lunch... To be Continued!...

Britbrie Posted August 25, 2015 Author #43 Share Posted August 25, 2015 We left the beach, and decided to check out the BBQ. They had super long lines when we got there, but it moved quickly. They had a small selection of salads, jerk chicken, hamburgers, and hot dogs. There was also fruit, cookies, and brownies for dessert. After getting lunch, mom and I sat down at one of the bars to eat. They had a small selection of liquor (like 6 different types, plus beer). After lunch, we went and checked out the rest of HMC. Britbrie Posted August 25, 2015 Author #44 Share Posted August 25, 2015 They had a small shopping center towards the front, it wasn't anything super exciting. Just t-shirts, and local crafts.
Britbrie Posted August 25, 2015 Author #45 Share Posted August 25, 2015 It was getting later in the day, and we were all ready to take showers and relax. Well, we honestly could have stayed at Half Moon Cay ALL week, but Carnival wouldn't let us. We were lucky enough to hop onto a tender right away, and it wasn't completely full at the top. A view of the cabanas/beach Once we were back on the ship, everyone split up their separate ways. Dad went up to Deck 10 to relax, while mom and I went back to the room to change out of our swimsuits. To be continued...

Britbrie Posted August 26, 2015 Author #47 Share Posted August 26, 2015 Hi! Thanks for posting this review. Getting excited about my upcoming cruise in November on the Glory! What kind of camera did you use? Your pics are great! Thanks for reading! I'm super jealous of you for getting to go on the Glory in November!! It should be a great cruise! Thank you for complimenting the pics! We used a combo of cameras this cruise... Canon 7D with various lenses, an iPhone 6, and a Canon Powershot ELPH 170 IS. I love the 7D, which took 90% of the pictures in the ports. The Canon Powershot was used a lot on the ship, and at dinner.
Britbrie Posted August 26, 2015 Author #48 Share Posted August 26, 2015 After taking a shower, I was super hungry... as I didn't eat much at the beach. I decided to finally try one of these 'Awesome' Guy's Burgers finally. Once we got up to Deck 9, the line was PACKED as most everyone was back on the ship. Although it was busy, the guys working at Guy's (haha) did an excellent job at keeping the lines down. I sat down with my burger, and OMG it was the best thing ever! The fries were also really good, and the toppings bar was a bonus! After our late lunch, we watched the sail away from HMC and took pictures throughout the ship. Mom and I checked out the shops, and then went into the casino to try our luck at the slots. Within minutes, I was down $20 bucks... it was depressing. After walking around the ship, we decided to go back to the room to see if my dad had made an appearance yet. Everyone got ready for dinner, and we headed to the Platinum Dining Room. Dad chose the Tuna... which he absolutely loved. I went with the usual... Mom chose to get another garden salad, which I unfortunately forgot to take a picture of... but I'm sure you get the idea of what it looked like. :) Dinner was off to a decent start, but no where near the spectacular service that our dining team had put forth the night before. I guess they were getting overwhelmed with the larger tables, and weren't as concerned with the three of us. Regardless, we remained patient... and continued to wait... and wait... and wait... until finally our entrees came out. Dad went with fish again... I chose the Veal Parmigiana, which was pretty delicious.
Britbrie Posted August 26, 2015 Author #49 Share Posted August 26, 2015 Mom chose the grilled chicken with a side of BBQ sauce. Overall everyone enjoyed their entrees, and we seemed to finish them before each of the larger tables in our section. We placed our dessert orders immediately, and hoped to be finished with dinner soon... The unfortunate reality was that everyone else received their desserts before us. Which, isn't a huge deal... but we had been served last this entire night, and things were getting slightly ridiculous. The dining room was clearing out, and just as we were about to leave... our desserts came. Both mom and dad went with the Diet Coconut Cake, which they both highly recommend. I went with the WCMC After eating the WCMC, I realized that it was so worth the wait in the long run... haha. We finished our meals, and decided to go to the comedy show. This night they had two comedians doing about 5 shows collectively. We ended up making it in time to see Ronnie Bullard perform. He was fun to watch. After the comedy show, we were getting pretty tired. The whole redhead + all day at the beach in the sun was starting to catch up to me. We got some drinks at the lobby bar, and decided to head back to the room to go to bed. Overall, Half Moon Cay was (at this point) my favorite beach that I had ever been to... Up Next: Sea Day
Britbrie Posted August 26, 2015 Author #50 Share Posted August 26, 2015 Day 3-Sea Day! Since we had gone to bed before midnight the night before, we woke up early and everyone got ready. Mom and I went up to Deck 9 to grab some breakfast. She went for the standard omelet, while I get some buffet items. After breakfast, we decided to go to the Fun shops and look at jewelry... who doesn't love jewelry? I noticed they were having Disney Trivia, so everyone decided to go and try our luck. The questions were ridiculously difficult, like you would have had to see every Disney movie made in the last 30 years to even get 5 right. Once trivia was over, mom went to check out the art auction while I checked out the Promenade Deck. She realized she didn't really want any of the art they had, and we went to walk around the ship to see what was going on. They had a few activities going on like the Hairy Chest Contest, more trivia, bingo was coming up, we could always get drinks... but we ended up in an unusual activity. There were a lot of people gathered on the upper decks of the theater. We looked on the state and realized they were having the Seuss-a-Palooza Story Time. It looked like it was a pretty cute show/activity for families with small kids. They tried to make everything interactive for the kids/parents to play along. I say if you have kids, definitely make an attempt to go see the show. After the Dr. Seuss show, they had bingo... so mom decided to play. We didn't win. Surprise there. I was getting kind of hungry, so I went up to Deck 9 to get a Guy's Burger... it was amazing again. I figured after the second one I would be sick of them, but that was far from the reality of it all. I was obsessed... calories don't count on vacation. Don't judge. After lunch, we went back to the room to relax. I wasn't in the mood to lay out in the sun all day (once again the whole redhead/fair skin thing). On the movie channel they had Gravity with Sandra Bullock, so I forced mom to watch it with me. Who doesn't love listening to Sandra Bullock heavy breath in space... We realized it was time to start getting ready for our first formal night... Everyone was ready, so we went to Deck 4 and sat in the Ivory Bar before dinner. The lounge was pretty cool, but there wasn't too much going on. The doors opened for dinner and we placed our orders... I only ordered 1 shrimp cocktail, but I guess they figured they would order an extra for me... no complaints here! Mom got the Mushroom Soup Dad got the fried oysters
