On our own to Trunk Bay

Hello Islander I was wondering what the aproximate total cost for taxis and ferry would be to Trunk Bay and back. Thanks in advance.

Assuming you are docking in Havensight, where most ships dock.

 

Taxi to Red Hook - $9 a person, one way

Ferry to St. John - $4 a person, one way

Taxi to Trunk Bay - $6.50 for one person, $10 for two people, $5 a person in group of 3+ people... one way.

 

Entry into Trunk Bay - $4/adult; 16 & under/Free

Cash is the only accepted form of payment. Also usually one tips the taxi drivers. :)

Yes we use the US dollar in the US Virgin Islands... also our neighbors in the British Virgin Islands also use the US dollar. ;)

THe United States Virgin Islands (St. Thomas, St. John, St. Croix, and Water Island) are territories of the United States. Have US Postal Service and use US currency. We have the FBI,CIA,US Army Reserves, you name it we have it, but no CVS or Wegmans :) .

The Virgin Islans at least where the ships dock are an American Territiry so use US $. Most of the Islands prefer US $ for everything anyway and will quote prices in US $. We have never exchanged $$$ on a cruise for local currency.
