sturderick Posted August 27, 2015 #27 Share Posted August 27, 2015 When you put you S&S card into the Machine does it tell you how much you have available or do you have to go to Guest Services or a Kiosk for that information? You will probably need to go to a kiosk to find your total. They might have that info on your tv in your room depending on what ship you're on. We've always been on a ship that has that info but I can't say for sure all of them have access to it from there.

retiredgram Posted August 27, 2015 #29 Share Posted August 27, 2015 (edited) HelloI have signed up for AARP and i searched gift cards and i dont see carnival. Can anyone tell me what i am doing wrong? Why I don't see it. Thank you Did you look under Rewards for Good at the top right hand side. This explains the program. You take little quizzes to earn points. Then go to redeem points and they have a travel tab. That is where you will find gift cards along with several other options. This is an edit: I just found on AARP: Open to AARP account holders who are enrolled in the Rewards for Good Program and who are a 50 U.S. states and D.C. resident, 18+ years of age at time of entry I see you are in Canada. Beach_gal Posted August 27, 2015 #30 Share Posted August 27, 2015 Thank you for posting this! I just saved another $50. I'm surprised they aren't already sold out. Such a great deal for those who can manage to grab some when they're available!

Twintowngirl Posted August 28, 2015 #33 Share Posted August 28, 2015 [ This is good to know, but why are you posting about Verizon and AARP gift cards on a cruise forum?] Maybe someone has responded to this question already...but I didn't notice any obvious answers to it so here goes.... On the AARP site there are Gift Cards available for various things, including Carnival and Royal Caribbean. They sell out frequently so it pays to check on the site frequently. To get a gift card at a reduced price you simply have to read some of the literature or take quizzes that are on the site which will bank up as points to spend. So for 5000 points ( maybe 11-12 different quizzes) you will be able to buy either one 500 dollar card for 450 dollars or 5-100 dollar cards for 450 dollars. It results in a 10% saving. The cards can be used to pay towards your cruise or else bank up your Sign and Sail account. I know that some Credit Cards as well as Verizon offer this same savings. Hope this answers your question as to why this information has been posted on a cruise critic board!

Can i purchase a certificate and use that towards my payments to pay off cruise? Thanks Yes you can!! Also shore excursions booked through carnival!! Have a balance left on your card? Put it on your sail and sign card once you're onboard! Cash out at the casino at the end of your cruise! Just go to casino, download funds, spin once, cash out at the cashiers cage! Twintowngirl Posted August 29, 2015 #36 Share Posted August 29, 2015 [QUOTE=gilby;47580046]I am wondering how these certificates work.] They are actually gift cards that you receive in the mail! We used some to pay off a balance on an upcoming cruise ( our travel agent took the card numbers and applied them to the balance). I also have more that I will use for my Sign and Sail card. I suppose some people would think that this is a lot of work for 10% savings but I will take any little bit I can...plus if you think of a 2000 dollar cruise bill, you could only be paying 1800.00! 200 dollars to spend on something else or to use towards another vacation!
