Safe running routes?

I will be training for a marathon while on my cruise and would love it if I didn't have to confine myself to the treadmill or round and round the jogging track. Is there a safe jogging path in St. Croix from the ship terminal? Better yet, does anyone know of a jogging tour?

I recommend going north along the beach. When you exit the cruise ship pier, walk to the left past the Fort, turn left and run. Just stay on the beach road (its paved but watch for potholes) and run until you are half-tired, then turn around and come back. If you are feeling adventurous, run up the dirt road to Estate Mt. Washington where you will find a very nice, free, walking tour of an old sugar plantation. This will seem a bit remote, but there are generally tours up to the plantation during cruise ship visits, so you won't be totally alone. It's always best to run with someone else. If you are doing it alone I would keep to the main road along the beach.

Enjoy!

Thanks for the great advice! I will certainly do this!
