Safe running routes in Bassetterre?

I will be training for a marathon while on my cruise and would love it if I didn't have to confine myself to the treadmill or round and round the jogging track. Is there a safe jogging path in Bassetterre from the ship terminal? Better yet, does anyone know of a jogging tour? TIA!

There are really not any jogging paths/trails in St Kitts. There also very few sidewalks in the rural areas. I have seen people running along the sides of the roads but that can be a little tricky with the roads being narrow in places plus the driving on the right-hand side of the road. You could run from the port area to the Bay Road then hang a right & run along the Bay Road to Bird Rock and Back. Good wide sidewalk along the street and not a lot of foot traffic.

I have to agree with Paul, the roads are narrow at times difficult for 2 cars to pass at the same time along with having ditches on both sides of the paved roads.

Depending on how many ships are in port that day, the main roads will be busy taking people to and from the port on excursions.

Correction though, they drive on the left hand side of the road, not the right like in North America.

I agree that the roads are not pedestrian-friendly. If you did want to run, I would definitely recommend doing so out in the country rather than the city. That gives you a better chance of at least seeing the traffic coming. The city can get a bit congested.

Also, the city has some open drainage ditches that you wouldn't want to take you unawares.
