wildcatcruzer Posted September 2, 2015 #1 Share Posted September 2, 2015 With ES, if you have some OBC from previous price reductions and you find another price drop without any OBC offered, do they give you the lower rate but take your OBC away? I hope this makes sense.
breckbird Posted September 2, 2015 #2 Share Posted September 2, 2015 (edited) no they dont if it is from price reduction but if it is from just a obc credit they do as well as if you put in for a obc but the price is higher they will give you the obc but bump up the price Edited September 2, 2015 by breckbird
springs741 Posted September 2, 2015 #3 Share Posted September 2, 2015 If your OBC is from a price reduction then you retain the OBC. If the OBC is part of a promotion then you will forfeit the OBC, therefore the price difference must be less than the price you paid plus the OBC to make it worthwhile. Also, not saying you would but just a gentle reminder to those that are new to price matching. You compare your base price to base price. When you get a lower price that is reflected in your booking info and the next time you compare you use the new price. I saw a poster a couple of years back that couldn't understand why her claim was denied. Each time she price matched she was using her original price. Bless her heart. thomarvin Posted September 2, 2015 #4 Share Posted September 2, 2015 possibly.. If the OBC is from special promo ie: booking while on a cruise or similar, then no you will not loose that. If the OBC is from a previous price drop you will want to do the math. If the rate you currently have minus your OBC is less than what they are showing now. Keep what you have. It's possible the rate is lower but not the OBC not as much. You need to see which calculates to a a lower rate and make your decision that way. Hope that's not confusing.
