LAX to Disney to Long Beach Transporation?

We are going to stay the night at a hotel near Disney land, and then travel on to the port in Long Beach (next day). I am wondering if it is cheaper for two people to rent a vehicle, or take a shuttle? Also, what about the way back from port to LAX? I thought I read on here (can't find) that you could book the Disneyland bus, even if you are not staying at a resort hotel. All suggestions appreciated!

It looks like the bus service is around $25 to $30 pp. I would call someone like SuperShuttle or other shuttle service. Unless you plan on driving while in Anaheim having a car might not be worth it. A lot of the hotels charge parking. Same with port to LAX. Just use a shuttle service.

It depends on what the drop of fees and parking are for the rental car. Also do you have kids? Car seats may compound the problem. You could try I I bet which was just allowed to pick up at LAX but I'm not sure when it goes into effect. Check prices for both because the day rate for the day you rent will determine which is better.
