Purchase an upgrade to a suite and add a third guest AFTER final payment

Situation

Have a large group sailing in Jan on Silhoutte, all bookings in Aqua.

One person will not be able to take a final decision by the final payment date.

Due to one other cancellation all our rooms will be balanced (2 per stateroom) going into final payment.

 

Option One

Subsequently book the room based on prevailing availability on a single or double basis if they can find someone else to join.

 

Option Two ...this is the complicated one

After final payment upgrade one of the rooms to a Suite

Add the additional guest as a third member on the booking

note: all involved would be fine with sharing three in a suite

 

Is option two possible? I know you can change a name after final payment but can you add a person?

What typically happens with perks when purchasing an upgrade of the room? Managed to book these rooms with grats + drink package + $500 OBC so not thrilled to lose those.

I added my daughter and her bf to our FV room less than a week before sailing! So that part is possible, no idea about perks, upgrading, etc.

Typically, if you upgrade and the rate is not a "special", you will be able to keep your perks, and sometimes even increase the value of some of those perks if booking a suite.

 

Now, the tricky part is being able to add a 3rd person. If the ship is almost to capacity, you may not be able to add another person.

 

One more note...those sofa beds in the Sky Suite are terribly uncomfortable! :rolleyes:
