Parking at Southampton City Terminal

We will be in Southampton for a Holland America ship's visit lasting about 5 hours. No reference to parking facilities are mentioned in the invitation. The City Terminal's website states that there is a short stay pay and display car park but gives no details as to price or time restrictions.

Hoping that JB or someone can say whether we would be best using this car park or if there is a better alternative. The visit is on a Sunday commencing at 9.30am. Many thanks.

Don't know about short- term parking at the terminal, but there's parking at Mayflower Park - shares an access off Platform Road with the Isle of Wight car ferry and Royal Pier. Sensibly-priced, IIRC it's £1 per 2 hours. Faces the ship 's bow, close to Dock Gate 8 & Holiday Inn.

According to the link I gave, the Mayflower Park is limited to two hours.

Parking Charges:

Car park Mayflower Park

tickets renewable every 2 hours

Hi Bob,

Described as a long-stay with no limit until dusk.

But yes, other websites also say things to the effect that the ticket is "renewable every two hours"

So i read that as saying you can stay there all day, as long as you go back and reload every two hours.

Which makes a nonsense of "long stay"

???????

I guess the OPs best bet is to bell the council's number on the website (I can't cos I'm out of the country.

I've parked there quite often, but only for an hour or two.

Or yes, the Quays South is convenient.

JB :)
