vavip Posted September 26, 2005 #1 Share Posted September 26, 2005 Which one should I do? How much on your own?
immargaret Posted September 26, 2005 #2 Share Posted September 26, 2005 The Ocean Riders one you can walk to from the ship, so that would save you some money. We did the Shotover one and enjoyed it, but may try the Ocean Riders one on the next cruise. I think price wise they were about the same, if I am remembering right. I think the Shotover people do a much better job with the photos and CD with pictures on it.....I've never heard much about the Ocean Riders group taking pictures. vavip Posted September 30, 2005 Author #3 Share Posted September 30, 2005 Just heard from Annie with Shotover Jet. She said it is $37 with free transporation from their base on Main Avenue at 10AM and 2PM. I will have to figure out how to get there. :-) 10AM is too early for the ship. The Star charges $85 so this sounds like a deal to me. :-)
EternalReturn Posted September 30, 2005 #4 Share Posted September 30, 2005 Do you have an email contact for Shotover jet? I heard from Ocean Riders but the times they are available conflict with other things we want to do. Thanks!

wherenext Posted October 3, 2005 #7 Share Posted October 3, 2005 We did Shotover Jet tour a couple of years ago and had a great time. The scenery was interesting and the crew was great and made it alot of fun. Have a wonderful time.
vavip Posted October 6, 2005 Author #8 Share Posted October 6, 2005 Shotover wants me to e-mail my credit card info for a reservation which I will not do on e-mail. So if it is busy there that day I may not get to ride if we just "show up".. Did you e-mail your card info to her? Ocean Riders may do the same thing - I haven't asked yet. . Shotover is $37 for 30-40 minutes and Ocean riders is $40 for 70 minutes they say????
EternalReturn Posted October 6, 2005 #9 Share Posted October 6, 2005 I can't get them to answer my email! GRRRR. Can you just show up there or do you need a reservation?
vavip Posted October 7, 2005 Author #10 Share Posted October 7, 2005 She said you do need a reservation to do the free transportation and if you take a cab it could be $40 she said. I think it is a 45 minute trip to the lagoon. Doesn't sound too good. :-(
EternalReturn Posted October 7, 2005 #11 Share Posted October 7, 2005 Hmm. Well I want to do it, but Ocean riders did get back to me so I might go with them just because Shot over won't get back to me. :( Do you feel comfortable calling them (in Mexico) and giving your credit card number? Maybe you could do that?
vavip Posted October 7, 2005 Author #12 Share Posted October 7, 2005 I think I am going with Oceanriders and just hope they will be as much fun as shotover....... I've heard one is in the ocean and the other in the river.
karfest Posted October 9, 2005 #13 Share Posted October 9, 2005 Here we are ready to leave on our fantastic ride with Ocean Riders. We are the four people in the back. My daughter in the back seat was wise to wear just her swimsuit- we were SOAKED when we got done! Also, there is alot of salt water spray so wear the goggles that they offer. We traded seats several times throughout the trip so everyone could have a chance to ride in the front seat. We also stopped to swim for about 15 minutes. Great Fun!! I will definitely do this again. :D
karfest Posted October 9, 2005 #14 Share Posted October 9, 2005 Here we are AFTER the trip with Ocean Riders. We're not drunk- just high on the adrenaline rush!! It is a short walk back to the ship if you need dry clothes-they have a "rustic" locker room for your valuables, but no real changing area. We bought the picture DVD (this is a picture they took) and it has some great pictures of Acapulco Bay. They also threw in some t-shirts:D
vavip Posted October 9, 2005 Author #15 Share Posted October 9, 2005 Karfest: great pictures :-) I'm looking forward to it now. I guess swimsuits and sandals are the way to go.
