Verizon cell/smartphone service

We'll be there on the island in less than two months. How is Verizon cell/smartphone service on the island? Or is it pretty much non-existent?

You shouldn't have any problems. While there in no Verizon service in PR, you should get service through Claro. Claro bought out Verizon's operation on the island a few years back. Not sure if roaming fees apply with Claro specifically or not.

We were there last year and had no problems with service on mine and my husbands phones but my daughter couldn't get any service. That was odd because she is on our plan and all her settings were the same as ours. Not a happy 19 year old.

Last March when I was there I had a horrible time using the data on my phone. Lucky for me the hotel had WiFi so my days before the cruise was fine. However when I was there the prior year as a cruise stop the reception for phone calls was fine.
