FTTF Debarkation

FTTF gives you a low debark number. And when I say low I mean like 2. Diamonds and Plats get the 1's. IF you need to get off before you can do self debark where you carry off all your own luggage. As far as the time? That is up to Customs to clear the ship. It is usually very close to the listed time unless there are complications.

Late? You can stay on until they tell you to get off the ship. Again it all depends on when people started getting off the ship and how quickly customs is able to pass folks through the system.

On the Victory (out of Miami) last January, we had FTTF. We were instructed to meet in a designated area in the dining room at 7:30 and were off the ship at 8:00 a.m. We had an 11:00 a.m. flight out of Fort Lauderdale and arrived before 9:00 a.m.

Carnival likes to have their ships cleared by 10 am. Several times we've waited til the CD says, 'Will the last 50 of you PLEASE get off the ship!' We are platinum.

For your Imagination cruise?

Choose the 2:55 flight. 11:30 would be doable if flying out of Long Beach.

Carnival suggests 1pm for flights out of LAX. Even though you're debarking on a Sunday traffic can happen at anytime on the freeways. Many times the weekends are worse than during the week.

We've been on 10 cruises now and every debarkation has been different.

Last Sunday we were scheduled to dock in New Orleans at 8am. However, the ship was docked by 6ish and we were in customs by 6:30. It was the best ever. With FTTF, we received "#2" tags but since we did self-assist, we just "sailed" right off the ship. I guess you could say we also got "FasterToTheHome". It was wonderful.......best ever!!!!

The worst was Mobile on Holiday when fog trapped us outside of the bay. Didn't dock until 1:30pm and got off the ship around 3:00.

......you just never know how it's gonna end. :)
