mg194 Posted September 25, 2015 #1 Share Posted September 25, 2015 It says choice of early or late debarkation but doesn't say how early is early and how late is late. Does anybody know? Mark
amyh13 Posted September 25, 2015 #2 Share Posted September 25, 2015 We were off the boat and in our car by 815. Not sure about late. We had an 8 he drive so we were thrilled.
springs741 Posted September 25, 2015 #3 Share Posted September 25, 2015 FTTF gives you a low debark number. And when I say low I mean like 2. Diamonds and Plats get the 1's. IF you need to get off before you can do self debark where you carry off all your own luggage. As far as the time? That is up to Customs to clear the ship. It is usually very close to the listed time unless there are complications. Late? You can stay on until they tell you to get off the ship. Again it all depends on when people started getting off the ship and how quickly customs is able to pass folks through the system.
Stacy_C Posted September 25, 2015 #4 Share Posted September 25, 2015 When we used FTTF on the Elation and Fascination, we were given the choice of 2 different times to meet to be escorted off the ship. The early one was around 8:15. I don't remember the later time.
QTPieRye Posted September 25, 2015 #5 Share Posted September 25, 2015 On the Victory (out of Miami) last January, we had FTTF. We were instructed to meet in a designated area in the dining room at 7:30 and were off the ship at 8:00 a.m. We had an 11:00 a.m. flight out of Fort Lauderdale and arrived before 9:00 a.m.
SadieN Posted September 25, 2015 #6 Share Posted September 25, 2015 (edited) Carnival likes to have their ships cleared by 10 am. Several times we've waited til the CD says, 'Will the last 50 of you PLEASE get off the ship!' We are platinum. mg194 Posted September 26, 2015 Author #8 Share Posted September 26, 2015 Thanks for all the answers. We're trying to decide between 11:30 AM or 2:55 PM for our flight out of LAX. This info helps. Mark
SadieN Posted September 26, 2015 #9 Share Posted September 26, 2015 For your Imagination cruise? Choose the 2:55 flight. 11:30 would be doable if flying out of Long Beach. Carnival suggests 1pm for flights out of LAX. Even though you're debarking on a Sunday traffic can happen at anytime on the freeways. Many times the weekends are worse than during the week. KBCruiseLover Posted September 26, 2015 #10 Share Posted September 26, 2015 We've been on 10 cruises now and every debarkation has been different. Last Sunday we were scheduled to dock in New Orleans at 8am. However, the ship was docked by 6ish and we were in customs by 6:30. It was the best ever. With FTTF, we received "#2" tags but since we did self-assist, we just "sailed" right off the ship. I guess you could say we also got "FasterToTheHome". It was wonderful.......best ever!!!! The worst was Mobile on Holiday when fog trapped us outside of the bay. Didn't dock until 1:30pm and got off the ship around 3:00. ......you just never know how it's gonna end. :)
