CruzinScotty Posted October 22, 2015 Author #201 Share Posted October 22, 2015 Here is tonight’s menu: Hey! With duck as an entrée on Formal Night, I was very surprised to see the appetizer available on this 5 night cruise. It’s the only appetizer pic I have tonight: Here are some entrees. Seafood Newburg: Braised Lamb Shank: Flat Iron Steak, with a special request of French Fries: I’ve heard lots of positive and negatives about this Every Day item. This is the first time anyone in our gang has ordered it. Tonight, it got a very positive review! Let’s talk a little about the Dinner Entertainment. So, do you like the crew singing and dancing? I’ve seen it enough. I enjoy the singing, but it distracts the crew and slows things down. Tonight though, we were in for a special treat. They did Blurred Lines and Low. But, the aft Sunrise Dining Room has a pretty good singer in the crew. He sang a solo of Unchained Melody. That is a very hard song to sing. He didn’t hit every note, but did a really good job on it. CruzinScotty Posted October 22, 2015 Author #202 Share Posted October 22, 2015 Here is the dessert menu: When you can’t decide, it’s OK to have two desserts! Here’s the Bitter and Blanc and WCMC: And the Tiramisu: Tonight is the only night we saw a sunset. Here’s a pic: Notice it’s raining again and how many clouds there are – to the west. Keep in mind that Joaquin is to the east of us. So, all through dinner, we all noticed that we were moving very fast. Much faster than normal. We were definitely “bookin’ it out of Nassau”. We didn’t know at the time, but the Captain obviously did; that in a period of twelve hours today (7am – 7pm) that Joaquin went from a Tropical Storm up to a Category 2 Hurricane. Looks like we’re trying to out-run it! How will this affect the rest of our trip? Ehh…that’s for the captain to decide how best to keep us out of harm’s way. And we didn’t know this at the time. We’re on vacation; it’s time for our evening and we’re going to start it with…..more comedy!
CruzinScotty Posted October 22, 2015 Author #203 Share Posted October 22, 2015 (edited) So, we head to the Limelight Lounge for another Family Friendly show with Michael Macy. You see, I already explained the Entertainment Sheet to you so you know the show would be the same. But, no one in our group had read the info close enough to realize this. He does a lot of improv which makes the show a little different anyways, so we decided to stay. He put on another good show. DW and I split off for a bit again and had a repeat of our first night. We headed to the Fun Shops for a bit and then some fresh air. We lounged at the Dive-in-theater and caught the end of the Avengers movie. Here is tonight’s towel animal: It was a fairly early night. But, there's one more full day of cruising ahead! Edited October 22, 2015 by CruzinScotty

CruzinScotty Posted October 22, 2015 Author #205 Share Posted October 22, 2015 (edited) No Expectations Nassau doesn’t get a lot of love. Freeport gets even less. I’ve only been to Freeport twice. The stores at the dock were not there at that time. I knew we were just going to get off and look around. There were no expectations for this morning. So, it had rained a bit during the night. We have moved to the east: Would it be enough? Were we far enough away from Joaquin to have a nice day? That remains to be scene! CruzinScotty Posted October 22, 2015 Author #206 Share Posted October 22, 2015 (edited) It was time for my morning walk. I started up on the Lido Deck, just to see how wet it was. Here’s the first thing I saw: And, he was with a bunch of his friends as well. I do like how the pool changes colors: Next: I spy…….Something’s Cookin’ at Guy’s??? CruzinScotty Posted October 22, 2015 Author #207 Share Posted October 22, 2015 (edited) Well, I can’t keep hangin’ around here like some of my new buddies: I’ve got to keep on the move. As I head towards the Marketplace, I pass by something and do a double take. I go back so I could get this shot: Who knew – Guy’s does French toast! LOL In the Market place, I was able to get a few pics of the breakfast buffet before it opened: Edited October 22, 2015 by CruzinScotty
CruzinScotty Posted October 22, 2015 Author #208 Share Posted October 22, 2015 Now, let’s head back down to Deck 5. I missed the area between the Ocean Plaza and the Casino. The first thing is the Taste Bar. I didn’t get any pics of this. At dinner, with YTD, we only saw the food the first night; we were there as they were still setting up. Today, they were setting up their Continental Breakfast. I particularly wanted to see this. But, they weren’t finished and I wanted to come back and get the entire spread. I didn’t. Oh, well…. But, I did get this: And it’s right next to: I had read about the Shake Spot. I had full intentions of trying something here. We just ran out of time. Here’s a few more pics: Next: rain clouds ahead……
CruzinScotty Posted October 22, 2015 Author #209 Share Posted October 22, 2015 I decided to head up to the Sports Deck. Off in the distance, to the west, is this: Let’s see how wet it is. Shuffleboard anyone?
CruzinScotty Posted October 22, 2015 Author #210 Share Posted October 22, 2015 (edited) I haven’t gotten any pictures of Putt Putt yet. Wonder how it looks up there? My, that doesn’t look good off to the starboard side (west)….. I LOVE the double Whale Tail: Next: Squeegy-Man! CruzinScotty Posted October 22, 2015 Author #211 Share Posted October 22, 2015 I head back to the Lido. It’s a little lighter and the crew has been trying to help our poor wet friends. Now that he’s all back together, he’s worthy of a picture or two. So, I’ve never seen this next thing. It’s a machine. It’s used to suck up water on the Lido Deck. The crew member was very surprised when I showed him my phone/camera. He said, “you want to take a picture of me?”. Yes, I do. I proudly present: Squeezy-Man. :D And just a few last pics of the Lido: Coming soon: The SECRET Deck

waywyrd Posted October 23, 2015 #214 Share Posted October 23, 2015 Is that biscuits and gravy I see in one of your pics? I sure don't remember that when we were on Miss Sunshine...:) Loving the review!

CruzinScotty Posted October 23, 2015 Author #216 Share Posted October 23, 2015 (edited) The Secret Deck I’ve heard about the Secret Deck. That place at the front of some ships where you can get some fresh air, beautiful views, and some peace and quiet. But, I’ve recently been in balcony cabins in the aft of the ship. I’ve not had reason to look for the Secret Deck. It turns out one DB/DSIL were so far forward, they were very near the Secret Deck. They suggested I meet them for our arrival in Freeport. This is the hallway towards the front starboard side of Deck 6: See what looks like a little hallway to the right? When you get there, there are two doors: This brings you to the Secret Deck. On the Sunshine, it is on Decks 6 and 7. Here’s the stairs going to Deck 5: And the one’s going up to Deck 7: From Deck 7, you have a great view of the Bridge: Note, the weather doesn’t look too bad to the east. CruzinScotty Posted October 23, 2015 Author #217 Share Posted October 23, 2015 (edited) From Deck 7, I also took these pics. Not as promising weather wise: Back down on Deck 6, here’s a pic that shows the divider for the first balcony: As I took these pictures, I felt really bad for anyone that had a water excursion booked for today. But, at least coming in to port, it was only cloudy. It’s our last port, we have one more full day of fun – no matter the weather. So, for now, “She’s the QUEEN of the world” :D Edited October 23, 2015 by CruzinScotty
CruzinScotty Posted October 23, 2015 Author #218 Share Posted October 23, 2015 And now, we’re approaching Freeport: If you didn’t know. The dock at Freeport is in an industrial area: I’m glad they’ve been able to add “anything” here just off the ship: Here’s some graffiti right where we’re docking: Next, time for breakfast before we get off the ship. CruzinScotty Posted October 23, 2015 Author #219 Share Posted October 23, 2015 Breakfast: I enjoyed yesterday’s breakfast so much, I had a repeat. Plus more: I may be wrong, but until the Vista arrives, this is the only ship to get these Guava cream cheese turnovers. YUM. Plus, I’ve never had Arepas before yesterday. It’s a sweet cornbread that has cheese in the middle. I repeated the banana bread and the huevos rancheros (minus the huevos ;) .) Today, I added something from the Havana bar that had chicken in it; and some hash browns from the burrito side of the Blue Iguana. We went back to the cabin to finish getting ready. While we were away, our friends decided they were lonely and want to get together: Outside, things are looking a little better. Here are a few pics from our balcony. You can see how close the pier is to the ocean: Some locals ready to take your picture:
CruzinScotty Posted October 23, 2015 Author #220 Share Posted October 23, 2015 We went down to the Atrium Lobby to wait for some family to join us. A few pics from this level: They were doing Dr. Seuss photos and breakfast: .
CruzinScotty Posted October 23, 2015 Author #221 Share Posted October 23, 2015 FInall, we're off the ship I took more pictures here than in Nassau. CammieO Posted October 25, 2015 #222 Share Posted October 25, 2015 Thanks for reading, glad I can help. I love that I read a Victory review to get info for my Sunshine cruise and you are reading a Sunshine review to prepare for your Victory cruise. :) Enjoy your cruise. Sleep well. Well, as well as you can the night before a cruise. ;) Have fun, I know you will. Back from my cruise and catching up on this review. We had a wonderful time and my sister is already planning her next cruise, so I consider it a successful trip haha. We missed half moon cay due to poor weather and spent two days at sea. It was disappointing, but I enjoy sea days so it was okay.
