cost of safes

Hi

I have never known this on a cruise before but I believe Thompson charge for safes!!

Can anyone tell me how much they are?

What currency is used in the casinos?

what type of plug sockets are used in the cabins?

Think it was £15 for a week and £25 for two. I do however think you have to pay on all other lines its just rolled up into the price and this does give you the option. It's sterling in the casinos, sorry can't recall the sockets but I think someone have already posted this. Hope this helps and have a great time☺

have you thought of locking any valuables in a case under your bed?

 

I think Celebration and Spirit have European sockets in the cabins and maybe American type as wel.....best to cover all eventualities and take one of each!! you haven't mentioned which ship you are going on?:)

Check what your insurance says about using room safes. Some policies state that if a safe is provided and you don't use it, they will not honour any claim made :eek:

On the Celebration and Spirit there are both USA and European sockets, don't use the USA as its only 110 volts and takes forever to charge anything! I take an extension lead plugged into the 220 volt and plug all my chargers into that

I am yet to cruise on Thomson ( 2 days to go, but who's counting!) but its not a hidden charge and they cant be compared to other lines as you would have to accept that most other lines have gratuity charges( in whatever term they wish to use). I admit I was surprised to see the charge for a safe, but each cruise line is different and I just go with whatever each cruise line says.

Don't get me wrong- I cant say I'm a stickler for rules, as I have been known to sneak the odd bottle of booze on board, especially RCI as the drink prices on there are a bit steep!
