Relaxing in Barcelona Airport?

We are cruising on Norwegian Epic next Feb/Mar and fly home to the UK from Barcelona. Our flight is at 17.50 so we have a long time to wait as we will probably disembark at 10.00 at the latest. The idea was to pay for a VIP lounge but that is airside and we can't get there until after checking in at say 15.00. Is there anywhere comfortable "landside" where we could spend the time? We have been to Barcelona a couple of times and don't fancy having another look round on that day.

There is not really a lot to do landside at the airport.

There is a company that will take your luggage to the airport and you collect it when you are ready to check in.

I am sure there must be things that you have not seen or done in Barcelona (parks, zoo, aquarium, museums etc) but if you have seen everything you want to see you could just have a walk around and perhaps a nice relaxed long lunch.

What day of the week are you there?

Are you flying out from Terminal 1 or Terminal 2 as that is an important factor? T2 has much more limited services than T2. Has your airline confirmed that they do not have a check in desk open for CI earlier than 3 hours prior?

We dock in Barcelona on Sunday.

We are flying Norwegian Air - very appropriate! - from T2 and I see from a website on the airport that T1 is the one with most facilities. I will contact Norwegian Air to see if we can CI earlier.

Thanks for your thoughts.

As it is a Sunday you might like to consider using the company I mentioned earlier to take your luggage and go to Cathedral Square (outside hotel Colon) and watch everyone dancing the Sardana - or even join in. It is usually around 12 noon. Get there early and try and get a table on the terrace of the hotel, order a drink and people watch.

Definitely better than sitting for several hours in the airport. Then have lunch somewhere.
