xavier Posted October 30, 2015 #2 Share Posted October 30, 2015 For,us it was worth the cost which is per dune buggy. We went out on the am run and it had rained the night before so,it was very muddy and you go through puddles and I did get dirty. You end up at a beautifull beach where you have the option of climbing up to the lighthouse. The view and the lighthouse were spectacular. Then a little more time at the beach before heading back. We trul enjoyed ourselves. But there were lots of mosquitos at the beach so I would take with some deet.
MSUcruisers Posted October 30, 2015 #3 Share Posted October 30, 2015 What did renting the dune buggy cost?
Sayra Posted October 30, 2015 #4 Share Posted October 30, 2015 What did renting the dune buggy cost? On our November cruise, it is $184.95 for two people (one dune buggy) for 2 hours. I saw it on the excursion list a few cruises ago, so we are finally going to give it a try.

xavier Posted October 31, 2015 #6 Share Posted October 31, 2015 Thank you for the answers! At the beach stop were you able to have a swim? Merci! You could swim if you want but remember you have to go all the way back in a wet swim suit which would be very uncomfortable. Most people just put their feet in the very very very clear blue ocean! scott4020 Posted October 31, 2015 #7 Share Posted October 31, 2015 We did it two years ago and had a good time. Be advised it can be bumpy so I wouldn't go if I had any back problems.
CharlieCharlieCharlie Posted October 31, 2015 #8 Share Posted October 31, 2015 We went on this excursion last December/January from a Royal Princess cruise. We thought it was worth it, had a lot of fun and enjoyed it. We own our own 4X4 ATV's and do off road riding, but don't expect this kind of ride. It is not a fast dune buggy drive, and it was just a little bit bumpy(but not bad at all). You wear a helmet, and if it is dusty you could put on a scarf for keeping dust from your face. For the guided tour each dune buggy follows in a line at the guide's set pace. You do end up for a short stop at a gorgeous pink sand beach and can take the trail up to the light house, or just explore the beach area. There really wasn't enough time to do much swimming, but the walk along the shoreline was nice. We also made a stop at the ruins of an Anglican Church - 1648. I mentioned that you do not drive around on your own, nor do you drive fast, because there was a couple along on our tour that threw an absolute fit about not being able to drive fast, they kept passing people, and complained, even yelled, at the tour operators. They kind of ruined it for all of the group. The tour guides took it in stride and truly tried to satisfy them. They most likely complained and got their money back from the ship, while they burdened the rest of us with their uncalled for actions. You can look up Eleuthera adventure tours, they have a website for more info.
